Alabasterbeard on PC

  • I'm currently receiving the "alabasterbeard" error whenever I try to enter a server on PC. Xbox is working fine. I have also played on PC before with no issues at all.

    I have tried the following:

    • Turning off firewall
    • Turning off antivirus
    • Opening port 59845 TCP/UDP on my router
    • Ensuring UPnP was turned on within router settings
    • Restarting router
    • Check network settings in Xbox Console Companion app - NAT Type Open
    • Disabling / Enabling ethernet adapter

Nothing works. Please advise if this is a server side issue for PC so I'm not pulling my hair out... Thanks!

  • @joshified Log onto your Xbox version and go to matchmaking preferences and turn off Xbox/Controller only! Log onto your PC version and enjoy!

    Happy Sailing! 🍻🦑

  • @x5h3ar3rx ah! Thank-you I will try that. It didn't even cross my mind that it would impact PC play when turning that on!

  • @joshified It is definitely better to bet all together.
Even so, this mistake also happened to friends without that option.

  • @joshified Hope it worked!

  • @x5h3ar3rx I was having this problem. On xbox I had the game set to only match me with Xbox plyers with controller. For some reason it affects the PC version. Go into the xbox version and change that setting to "All players": under the matchmaking setting.

  • @capn-mcquacken I'm not the one having the problem.. it's @Joshified who has the issue.. but thanks!

  • @joshified same issue here. I believe it’s a bug on pc when joining a player who is on console and has their crossplay preferences to console only. Somehow it switches our preference to the same and their server freaks out because your on pc. Can only be changed back by logging onto an Xbox and selecting crossplay again which not every can do if they don’t own an Xbox. Pretty frustrating bug.
