Your Pirate Through the Years

  • While this isn't your traditional feedback thread, I figured it couldn't hurt to do something a little fun and provide feedback directly towards other pirates, since looking the part of a pirate is so crucial - so, I thought that it would be fun to celebrate SoT's longevity by showcasing how your pirate has evolved throughout the years. Please share images of your pirate, from then and now and discuss how those changes came about through your adventures upon the waves. Then wait and see what others have to say or think about it. Enjoy!

  • @galactic-geek might make a proper back story for my guy soon. Before the potion had come out my guy was an old man, then I reset and my new guy looked like Gaston from" beauty and the beast" so I'd sail around singing songs. When I reset a second time he looked like "mr gibbs" from pirate of the Caribbean.

Now I've just got a tall, muscle man with hair that'd make a statue blush.

  • @sailorkek A regular Statue of David, aye? I appreciate your descriptions and comparisons to other pirate-era figures.

  • @galactic-geek my pirate has quite the history. And I have lots of pictures to help tell his tale. What would be your best suggestion for sharing them?

  • I have a very old lady pirate with a white beehive hairdo aka the Afro. She is super skinny from a diet of day one bananas and ugly as sin. I don’t have the heart to re roll her.
She is always barefoot, and wears the bra top that until recently was a dirt white, now a dirty brown ish colour.

I think it’s ok for me to say this on here, but on the insider version I have an equally nasty old man. Skinny, barefoot and dirty.

In my mind they have been separated in some weird sea of thieves parallel universe type thing, never to be reunited but always longing for one another.

It’s a tragic love story of desperation and longing by the evil universe creators, Rare.

  • Hmm, this is a quite hard task...My Pirate has flourished along the Forum , almost developed along the Forum,so to say...i started as a very shy ,humble , almost afraid to communicate and meddle with others ,kind of Pirate ...i was taken in embrace by so many Great Forum Pillars who gave me the feel that suddenly , for the first time in my little life ,i somehow mattered… For many, many months i lived on a cloud of happiness, untill the game was released in Beta…

The anger of some , the "pick a fight " mentality that suddenly roared up like a nineheaded hydra ,startled me, my once so happy and almost fantasy Forum became smudged , thrashed and broken by many who simply never understood nor even listened to Mr Chapman , a person i still see as the perfect Personification of SOT as he can explain without one hesitation how Great SOT is...

The Seas became more and more agressive , hold on, i don't mind a fight ,even if i lose , but almost every Pirate that boards uses the spawncamp technique...For what , kill a few ,slowpoke oldies ? Even in a fair fight i lose 90 percent , but at least i got a chance...

Months passed by, and i alienated from the Forum , since many Pillars didn't used it or didn't had time anymore to write and discuss on a Forum where "under water stabs " became the new " standard"...

And so i became a Pirate that waited to shout out to others , that didn't greet Pirates in a Friendly way , instead i waited till the canons roared so i could return fire ...Mostly out of defence as we defended and sailed away. i also played with my regular crew, mostly only with them...My world grew smaller again as many Pirates just verbally greet you with sludge than with a goofy remark….

Today , i just like to sail alone , no goals , and no hope that i will ever get that Great SOT feel back , do NOT get me wrong , SOT IS and Stays A Great Game ,but my courage to reach out to others has reduced to almost zero...i only meet new Pirates if my Friend ,Mr J4dio reaches out to others ...Because i simply have lost that courage , almost at the same amount that i lost the urge ,will or feel to write on this Forum...

i have become a shadowy Pirate that tries to avoid every contact ,since i can't handle myself in a multiple Pirate fight ...And i just want to sail , because the Wonderfully Beautiful shaped Sea keeps singing New Tunes to me...

My adventures are not that Epic anymore , but i do cherish more the little things i feel and meet along the sailing…

This may smell of sadness or selfpity ,but don't read it like that ,i finally came to realize that a game with Millions of players will always atract those that only know half of what this game is about … Normally i would walk away ,but since the World is so Beautiful , the Music and Sounds mesmerizing , i will stay a Pirate untill a certain Mr Spencer shuts off the servers ...Then i will have a new mission : to convince him to restart them again or ...i board his mansion, and then i will spawncamp...hihihihi ( * George...you will always be a ….Mooooooroooooooon!!!!)

  • @testakleze do your own thing - I'm not 1 to restrict free-wheeling pirates behind bars or a noose.

  • @testakleze imgur pictures are easily copy, pastas on these forums. Anything else doesnt work for me.

  • The only thing that I have changed since release is my hat and adding face paint. lol You can't beat the admiral outfit imo.

  • Me sailor hasn’t changed since release with the exception of the hungering tattoo and scars from the fight. Imagine a shirtless Chuck Norris bearfoot in tattered pants with a morion resting upon his head.

Minus the Hat, Scars and face paint. I always had the beard a eyepatch playing card. Sailing alone with my own sloop and doing my own thing. Always saw my pirate as that loner who would always sink and be found on a washed up island, broken and crazy from the sun.

Kept to myself, only meeting random pirates, good and bad. Even giving away random chests to anyone because I could and never plan on buying a lot of junk.

Upon meeting pirates, bounds formed from all the events and bringing new pirates to play along with. Forming own crews and enjoying our shanty plays. My crew thinks of me as this deranged and silly guy to hang with, fishing or traveling. Even helping other crews and only going out of our way to pull pranks if deem to bored.

Now Im still a crazy pirate. Still prefer to sail alone but much love the company of others, tho my pet Parrot tends to keep me company. My wounds are small but visible. I still find random pirates and give them chests or items, just because...now I have so much gold It pointless to me, still dont buy a lot and only waste it.

Thus my name and story has been told.

  • In the beginning:
I wanted to look like a character straight from the pages of Treasure Island - Jim Hawkins or the doctor. Good natured and fitting for the period, but not quite pirate. I wanted to look non-threatening.

    Then (year 1):
Growing in confidence, I decided to take my appearance further and look more regal, like Napolean. This once-upon-a-time sea captain, now disgraced, seeks to reclaim his glory days.

    Now (year 2):
I enjoyed using the ceremonial admiral tools and weapons, and when this set released, I just had to forego the blue to continue with the very trendy hot-fire red. Flameheart, eat your heart out (if you haven't already).

  • Captain testakleze came to the sea of thieves in his black dog outfit. His first day to this new place celebrated by buying the day one eye patch.

Not much of his look changed over time but he did acquire a set of scars across his chest while battling the hungering one. By this time he was doing work for the Athena's fortune faction and felt compelled to wear the ghost set. The eerie glow seemed to hold mystical powers, and even if it didn't make him a better pirate, it seemed to be intimidating to others.

As the bilgerats made a bigger name for themselves, Captain testakleze was there challenging himself to complete their tasks. As sort of self recognition, he would wear the hat sold by the bilgerats for completing the current event. Bone crusher, wailing barnacle, even forsaken ashes, but would eventually return to his black dog outfit.

The cursed sails brought the threat of skeleton ships and even formal challenges to pirates from the warsmith herself. Captain testakleze prides himself on defending the sea of thieves during each battle. He has a tattoo set inked on him to show off his victories over the skeleton fleets.

Eventually his riches became so great, he decided to purchase all the vendors had to offer. The last purchases he made at the time of the devil's roar being rediscovered were the scurvy bilgerat cosmetics and he proudly adorned them for weeks in celebration. Since then he has done his best to keep up with new stock.

Occasionally the ferryman would grant him life at the cost of his hand or leg. Sometimes both. He never understood why the ferryman would do this but fortunately he hasn't had to deal with this for a long time. He believes the ferryman may be showing him some favor.

Most of the time, he is shirtless. He likes feeling the salty sea air on his skin, but occasionally when things get serious, he puts on his jacket. He believes it shows experience, cunning, and authority, and also that it adds to the intimidation factor of his black appearance.

He has spent many days on the seas. Some calm and relaxing, others heart pounding. Not only has he fallen victim to the order of souls curse, but his hair has started to show his age. What was once solid black is now starting to grey. He won't let age stop him though. If anything, it has made him wiser and more ruthless than the sailor he was before.

He was last seen dancing in a thunderstorm atop the crowsnest on the reaper's hideout celebrating a successful heist of a chest of legends, two reaper's bounties, and a collector's chest filled with rubys.

Q: can you still see my images in reply #12? On mobile, I can't see them anymore. Also, can you see them if you click the link?

@testakleze BTW, great story, bro! 🙂

  • @galactic-geek they aren't showing up for me on mobile. The link still works though.

Do they show up on other non-mobile devices?

  • @galactic-geek
I can see your pirate and Pendragon in a stare off. Trying to psych each other out with smoldering intensity.

Before I knew it was Pendragon, I would look at the portrait hanging in the Blackwytche at Shipwreck Bay, and be all like "father!?"
