So I did an emissary run 3 days ago with a random team mate on my sloop.
You know, one of these veteran players who never use a mic. Instead he displayed the highest Sea Dog rank as title.
When maneuvering to the next island, we saw two brigs near each other and plotting their course to our approximate direction.
So I steered away to an island with a rock formation to wait out and see what the brigs were going to do and what my team mate would type into the chat.
One brig steered into the same direction and seemed like it was about to intercept us. The second brig followed up with some delay.
I prepared my inner self for a heated chase and battle, but this is where things came completely different.
Without any further comment, my crew mate just bailed at the island.
I continued driving without asking any questions and turned around the rock formation while trying to figure out which spot is the best to break out and sail against the wind. The last thing I saw was the two brigs being very close to that little isle where my crew mate disembarked and then sight contact was lost.
After a while it came apparent that they weren't chasing me and I asked the guy what he can see and if the brigs have simply decided to not pursue me, to which he replied that he just sunk one brig and was about to sink the second one too. Dafuq.
So I returned and bombarded the second brig, which already had some holes if I remember correctly. Even today I'm still not sure if he really needed my help at this point.
Turned out that he brigs somehow got into a fight with each other at that isle and my mate took advantage of the situation. So he decided to just sink both of them and upon doing so he did some slight trashtalking and acting like he's part of each brig crew as a deception to pour oil into the fire.
A true legend, he made the Sea Dogs very proud that day for sure.
