Saying Goodbye to The Arena

Quick question @Meroviel Would we finally be able go inside the Sea dog tavern once The Arena closes?

Sitting outside can be bit a cold sometimes or I just wanna meet the Demarco & Lesedi Singh?

Personally I would really like the opportunity to still earn the Good Boy set if I reach 50 before March 10. I’ve personally been grinding arena a lot lately and am about to hit rank 48, and knowing that I was so close to earning it is a little frustrating. If I had known this was coming, I would have been able to focus some more time on it and easily reach rank 50 before today.

You should definitely put the legendary weapon set in the game, obtainable in a different way. Keep the titles LSD and TSD locked, but please let us have those weapons.

Me and my PvP friends are really excited for the new adventure stuff and the players it will bring to the seas :)

Please adjust/change the achievements dedicated to the arena so that they are not unobtainable in the future. Thank you.

FYI, I didn't play arena after the plunder pass was added because none of the gameplay contributed to the pass xp.

Adding the Good Boy ship set to the Emporium for charity (dog shelter charity or similar) would be an awesome gesture. Time-limited cosmetics are one thing, when they're made time-limited after the fact, that's kind of disappointing.

What if instead of flooding us with new tall tales and rotating events faster than we can play them, you just chilled for a bit and focused on making Arena actually fun or hitreg actually work?

Ive been scrambling to deal with and prioritize your revolving door of events like Grogmanay and Reapers versus the world cause those were published as being time sensitive. Stuff like arena has taken a back seat since there wasnt a deadline so you can imagine how bad it feels for the deadline to be announced at its set time.

You are making content, especially time limited content, far too fast and I have quit more than one other game that was my "main" game for that exact reason. Please slow down so we can actually enjoy things.

Oof, I understand the reasoning, but while I love SoT, this might be the end of it for me. I know some people unwind by fishing, or doing quests, but I unwind in arena (as strange as that sounds). It gives me the fresh outlook to break up the monotony. I’ll of course give this a chance to see what changes play out in adventure, but sadly I’m not optimistic.

I'm level 47 Sea Dog. Is there any way I can kindly convince you to give me the "The Good Boy" ship set too? It'd be devastating to me to not be able to get it so close to the finish...

Now that I think about it, what would be the reason behind closing it in terms of Lore? Especially since it's DeMarco and Lesedi (Ramsey's Children) who run it so what will happen to them? Along with the other NPCs and the construction work at K-11. Will it still be there or torn down?

That's a shame. I enjoyed the arena quite a bit, even in it current format. I get that it wasn't as popular but it was still a great tool for competitive content like NAL and SOC and an exciting alternative experience. I always saw a lot of potential in the arena format, and always hoped to see it grow into something like fleet battles(I would have loved 3 ships vs 3 ships, in a "last boat floating wins" deathmatch). It's a shame they couldn't figure out a way to properly lock it down so that the adventure mode changes no longer have an impact on it.

Having been a part of the NAL since it's beginning this is definitely disappointing news to put it lightly. It's been exciting watching the growth of the NAL's playerbase and viewership, even seeing their larger events reach the top of twitch streams for all of SoT. I think just considering the players alone is mis-judgment as to the interest in arena as a mode since many people enjoy to just watch the competition in a game that's familiar to them.
I can only hope some thought has gone into giving private arena server access to NAL and SoC to keep their events and dedicated playerbase alive. I'm no tech genius but if it's somehow possible to just set aside the code from a current (or previous) arena build so it wouldn't need further attention from the dev team.
If this is truly the end of Arena then it's also the end to so many future events and projects that simply don't work in an adventure setting. #SaveArena #RankedArenaComingSoon

I just wish the cutoff point for the "The Good Boy" set was March 10th and not today (especially because the decision was not announced before the deadline).

I guess you will not change this deadline and I understand if you don't, but I wanted to ask just in case; "nothing ventured, nothing gained" as they say ^^

As a player with lvl 40ish seadog please reconsider the cutoff point. It's kind of frustrating that the cutoff point is so short notice. It would be more logical to do it when Arena actually goes away, then me and I think a lot of other players will play a lot of arena as a last goodbye.

@el-spaniardchi You just said it yourself. You missed out cause you didnt want to grind it out and play. What do you expect?

Im extremely grateful that the small arena community is being recognized, and that they are keeping those rewards exclusive.

I understand the choice to shut Arena but I think it unfair to make the closing date today for getting The Good Boy Ship set. I've been stuck at level 42 for a while now as I haven't had a good team member to get it done. I think what would be more fair to players like myself is that you extend the period that people can get the ship cosmetics and weapons, levelling etc up until the close of Arena in March. It's unfair to say the close is already passed without fair consideration to players who are grinding this. Please just reconsider the deadline for these cosmetics. Thank you.

@elhant3154 I'm here with you. They really should reconsider it and extend the deadline to march 10th, or at the very least tell us in advance that they're doing this? I feel so cheated out of the reward rn because I am so close, literally just a handful of games and I'll have it

I was never a big fan of Arena, however i do feel bad for those who are, but i’m glad that everybody who did play will be rewarded with the different arena ship sets, it’s the perfect reward to give out, not sure how i feel about the sea dog cosmetics going away though, it makes sense but it’s definitely a bit sad for 2 full sets to just be removed like that.

The Arena was possibly the most difficult set of commendations to pursue in the game to date (in terms of time committed) and I'm so grateful to have had a chance to participate. I understand that losing the Arena will hurt for those that still actively use it, but I look forward to the quality of development going forward having all resources available to the team.

I liked Arena even with that long search. Closing Arena is ok in this situation, but other things made me dissappointed.

Sad that u decided to give rewards without giving any chance for others to get them. That is not honest to ppl who just started arena and liked it(I have 40+ lvl, and played Arena often, but started not long ago). If u gave others some more time(to 10 March for example), that might be more honest. But no. U decided that it is better to give all 50 lvls now. Doesnt matter that some players were near that point. Disappointed by that.

Close arena if that's your decision but give us time to grind out for the cosmetics. This is completely unfair!!!
