Or does it stays in the guild?
Once I pledge a ship into a guild, can I remove it after?
You can also tell your guild they can't sail your fave, but they can sail others. I committed 3 ships to my main guild. 2 from main (one you can change,,,) my main ship and my main from my alt acct.
You can be part of, or create, 3 guilds (so you can only be in 3 total, yes)
In general, I think it's always beneficial to be sailing for one of your Guilds, so I would pledge most of your ships and just leave your main ships as Private (click on ship and change sharing options).
I've kept one of my sloops not pledged just in case something happens and the Guilds become unavailable, I might still be able to sail a normal Captained ship.

The ships get switched back to captaincy if the guild deletes/you get kicked.
Right, but I'm specifically referring to game issues. An example being when Guilds first became active, one of my pledged ships completely disappeared because of day one server problems - it wasn't in my Captained Ships and it wasn't in the Guild, it was gone gone. It later reappeared when issues subsided but, in that instance, I couldn't use that ship if I needed it. Thankfully, it was one of my ships I don't really use, so it didn't matter.

How do you unpledge a ship from a guild? I cant work out how to do it! Tia
When you are about to sail you get the screen with the image of your ship and in the left the menu where you can click either 'Sail Sloop/Brig/Galleon', 'Sharing Options', 'Ship's Chronicles', 'Restore', 'Rename' and 'Dismantle'.
If you click on "Sharing Options" you get the pop up menu where you can select if you want to share it with Guild Members, but below that you also have the option to "Remove Pledged Ship".
