So recently I tried out the game Sail a terrible game but had some features I think would be great for SoT
the ship in a bottle mechanic would work perfectly for sea of thieves
When joining the game instead of saying your ship there all ready to go you would go to the shipwright and get your ship in a bottle then toss it into the sea and watch it spring out of the water
If your ship sinks the next time you see it after taking a mermaid to its location it will have returned as a ship in the bottle
And with Captaincy only the captain would be able to possess and throw the bottle into the water
If you're one of those troublemakers that got sent to the brig so people don't abuse the scenario you would be set free until the ship is in full form. Once the ship is in full form you will be back in the brig until they let you out
In my opinion this would feel more appropriate then for some reason having a full ship with the cosmetics you had on it at a random Island just sitting there
Ship in a bottle
More than just captains need to be able to respawn the ship.
Maybe just initial spawn. If that.

Funny Idea, but what preventing people from tossing it and forcing it to spawn in weird places.
If your ship sinks the next time you see it after taking a mermaid to its location it will have returned as a ship in the bottle
Would the bottle already be in your hand? If there no Captain, among your crew who gets the bottle? What prevents a scummy crewmate from holding on to the bottle and not summoning it?
And with Captaincy only the captain would be able to possess and throw the bottle into the water
Okie, So what if the captain refuses to toss it?
Funny on paper, silly and seems to fit. But explain more of the Bottle, lore wise.
I see more bugs happening where the ships dont spawn, Or captains getting lucky with a rowboat and rowing toward a player, and drop there Galleon ship next to a Sloop. So if a ship is sunk and the captain is still fighting or hanging around where she sunk, but one or more of their shipmates have gone to the ferry or took the mermaid, they won't have a ship to sail ?
If there is a rowboat at the new span location, they can take it and when they are close to ship, the captain can smash the bottle and have a ship instantly ?

It would only work in water also the devs would definitely find a way to balance it maybe over balance it like they usually do.

The bottle will have appeared in the sand with beacon only visible by its crew

Then that's their choice it's their ship their rules. Of that means he risks not keeping a crew.

The rest of the crew however could have hands free to blunderbomb the captain till he throws it. Also like grapple hook there will be zones where u cant use it like say a certain radius of another ship.
@xdragonman15558 you'd have to be pretty dumb to be in that situation I'm not saying you're dumb I'm saying the person that would get in that situation would be dumb
