SAFER SEAS - little changes for better PVE experience

  • I think this great game needs a little change to make the community bigger and the game even more successful!

This game should be full of fun and discoveries for all players PVP and PVE the state of the SAFER SEAS is realy great at the time but still needs some fine-tuning...

    • The most Important thing what needs to add is, to use your own ship for sovereigns JUST to sell all the loot there faster! :)
    • Add from LvL 25 to LvL 50 at the 3 main factions all above you need go HIGHER SEAS!!! (So you ready for ATHENA reputation and make more experience)

Dont get me wrong i dont whant a easy way for commendations, just a zone where you can play more PVE with friends undisturbed or for those who are not PVP-Players to enjoy this great Pirate Game.
So find a fair way commendations from HIGHER SEAS stay there, but you can enjoy the GAME (MISSONS to do if you are only Singleplayer and few commendations like state now) in SAFER SEAS almost in the same way!

    would be nice thanks!!!

  • Reapers is still a slower sell location in higher seas so it's not only safer seas that faces it.

I get the frustrations but I also don't think design needs to be involved with people stacking loot.

I have a bajillion hours in high seas and I really don't need anything anymore but I still keep my hauls manageable even if I give them away or don't end up selling them. In organic play there is never really a reason I should be sitting on much more loot than a world event/voyage and some random pve on the way to selling. Nothing too bad to sell even the old school way.

Would it bother me if they let people sell faster in safer seas? nah but it's still somewhat of a risk/reward game. People should be treating it that way. Otherwise people never really move on from the stacking mentality and they very often take loss in a negative way from it.

If safer seas is something to prepare for high seas then "I should get this turned in otherwise it could be a pain or a loss" should be built in to the strategies.

Knowing that someone isn't gonna sail up while selling is a pretty huge perk in SoT. So it might be kinda annoying but it's also way more peaceful.

A lot of things are different since the days some of us were treasure grinding as well. More convenient treasure chests, running with loot, harpoon walking and harpoon guns. Quite a bit of stuff that allows for more efficiency in selling.

Why? You have no need to sell faster. Your not under attack, fear of being attacked or...in a rush.

If you want Athena, join HS.

    Your misunderstanding Safer Seas...

  • The game design and intent for Sea of Thieves is a shared world adventure, and it always will be. Those who wish to play in the confines of Safer Seas will always have the option but we will not bring the rewards and activities in line with those of High Seas when many of the restrictions are in place due to the risk vs reward factor that is inherent in Sea of Thieves - removing any risk means rewards must be balanced accordingly.

Safer Seas will act not only as a safe space for our Tall Tale players but also for families with children who just want to pirate, for people who want to play the game but learn the ropes and it will organically feed into Adventure mode, keeping the player pool there healthy and upskilled as they've learned the mechanics.

This is not only useful for new players but also families and players with accessibility needs - the whole game suddenly becomes available in a way it hasn't before, letting them naturally progress to High Seas and become a Pirate Legend. SoT has grown a huge amount in 5 years and it can be fairly overwhelming.

The borders put in Safer Seas mean that to experience the full depth and breadth of the game you will have to hit the high seas BUT if you're playing with your family you don't have to, you can just enjoy the game and have fun as a family.
