  • @Olric-Forstner I use a recording program called Dxtory (trial version) as a frame rate monitor. It also has the added benefit of allowing you to setup a folder to save screenshots in. And the ability to assign your desired screenshot hotkey.

  • Ahoy!

Kinda late, but for anyone else still wondering, use your built in Windows 10 DVR screenshot key which is Windows Key + Alt + PrintScreen. To access the screenshots, look in your folder on your PC in "This PC/Videos/Captures" which will contain both screenshots and video recordings taken by Windows 10 DVR feature.

Alternatively, you can also launch your Xbox App which is found in your Start menu, and click on Game DVR.

    Happy sailing, matey!

  • Only problem with the feature above is that if you have more then one monitor it will capture all your other monitor screens as well, so you will have to crop every single screenshot taken to get a actual decent screenshot which can normaly be done in any game today in 2018 usualy. Even this game: http://store.steampowered.com/app/316750/Tetris_Ultimate/

No idea why this feature was left out but so far i've noticed that NVIDA Shadowplay can take screenshots, but then that will be demanding on your PC too since it wants to have it's overlay up and running constantly.

To be honest, best way is to use your phone to take a photo on the screen, it's probably the easiest way unless they can add a screenshot button like Tetris who at least got Steam screenshots.

  • @sockertop I didn't seem to have that issue when I tested it myself. I have two monitors and it definitely only captured the game only. If you hit PrintScreen and paste the image into Paint or something, then yes, you get both monitor screens.

  • Windows Key + G should bring up the Game Bar. Has a screenshot option on there.

Check the Windows 10 settings for more options for game bar.

  • @sockertop: NVIDIA Shadowplay supports a configurable hotkey for screenshots (and another one for video recording on/off). The overlay need not be visible to make them. The impact on performance is minimal. Everything is configured in GeForce Experience. Screenshots and videos are saved to a subfolder of "Videos" in your home folder.

  • @ben-sharktooth

Yeh I just activated it so I'll try this way today. Been using what others been saying earlier in this thread about the windows game mode but I'm not pleased with it because i've noticed a delay on the screenshots, so if you want to capture that "right moment" - press the screenshot button then it should normaly be captured but here the capture itself can happen a few seconds (2-3) after you press it which ruins the screenshot.

Hopefully there wont be a huge impact on performance with this way though. Will find out later.

Regardless, It still does not really compensate for having a actual in-game screenshot button.

  • The Windows 10 Game bar isn't working any more since the last patch. Whenever I hit Windows+G now it says "This game does not allow recording."

Anyone know whats up with this? I didnt see anything about it in "known issues" in the patch notes and I can't believe they disabled it on purpose.

  • @shaggyduderino Mine has been doing the exact same thing with Winows+alt+PrtSc I dont think they did it on purpose but I hope it fixes soon because i love taking screenshots

  • I have no problem with just using the PrtSc button. Windows 10 can automatically save them as PNGs to your OneDrive so there's no need to paste them into anything each time. The only problem is when you have two monitors, but it's easy enough to crop the second monitor out later. It's possible that Ctrl+Alt+PrtSc will just capture the active desktop, but I've not had a chance to test this yet.
