We need real forts!

  • We need real stone forts to raid. along with those measly wooden skeleton forts you already see ingame. These stone forts should be guarded by NPC soldiers of a selective nation(for example spanish, english, french) and have a stronghold with more or less gold (depending on how guarded it is).

  • Come on and upvote this. You know you want it! ;)

  • @psk76 I'm all for more NPC PvE content. But because you had to ask, I'm not upvoting ;)

Thats a strange way to look at things. :)

To add-on to the first idea. To be able to enter these stone forts you must first blow your way inside. Either with cannon fire or using a gunpowder barrel.

    1. Ancient-Forts: Volcanic Islands with a fort made of stone ruins and covered in trees. These can still have Skeletons or even the soldiers you suggested. The main catch to these forts would be that every so often the Volcano will erupt, firing cannon-like rocks all around and into the island- and lava flows will rush down dividing the battlefield for a short time.

    2. Naval Outpost/Fort hybrids: What if there were Navy controlled outposts that acted as the oft-request ‘safe-zones’. These outposts can have at least one or two navy ships constantly circling with full crews of 8+ navy soldiers, plus soldiers on the outposts themselves. The Navy there will turn on any Pirates that fire at anyone and drive them out or sink/kill them from that immediate area.
But every so often the outpost will ‘close’ and become an active fort where you can raid all the shops for loot and have to fight off all the Navy-Soldiers in order to access the main treasure room just like a regular fort.

    I like your ideas!

  • @psk76 I like yours as well.

I also think the game could do with higher-tier boss-like Skeletons for the Forts and even Pirate Legend voyages.

These Captains could replace the current ones at the end of the Fort encounters. They can be more individualized with abilities and designs unique to themselves (unlike the current Captains whose names and Skeleton-Type are all randomly assigned).

I would call these ‘Cursed Captains’ and as their name suggests these unique Boss-Captains can drop cursed skulls. These skulls will correspond to the Captains unique abilities/qualities.

For example let’s say there is a Cursed Captain named ‘Capt Anthony Abyss’ and he is a fancy looking Shadow Captain who ontop of being a Shadow-Skelly, can turn invisible in the dark. Then his Cursed skull will be an Abyssal Skull that can only be carried after having light shined on it.

Or for something more unique, ‘Captain Billy Blast’ a hulking Skeleton who carries around a cannon instead of a standard weapon. His Cursed-Skull would be something like a ‘Cannon-Skull’ a heavy black skull that while weighs you down while carrying, can be fire from a cannon as a weapon or to move around faster.

These Cursed Captains can add to the game’s lore, and be memorable re-occurring bosses exclusive to Forts and Pirate-Legend Voyages.

  • @psk76 kind of like the forts in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag?

    Perhaps. :)

  • @manuelmanouche I love this idea.

Soon, many more players will be legendary, and making a role that only newer players could fill would force interaction between veteran players and new players, since only a newer player could go into the fort without raising suspicion by the overseer of the fort.

  • @psk76 I like both wooden forts and stone forts.

In my ideal SoT world we have both. The wooden forts we have now were established by pirates with low amounts of wealth. Bigger, more elaborate wooden forts created by pirates with medium amounts of wealth. Very very large wooden forts created by wealthy pirates. Smaller stone forts created by past pirate legends. They had enough wealth to build stone structures but not as big as the ones created by countries.

Then we have stone forts ranging in size with human NPCs that are naval soldiers. They represent different "countries" and the different countries have bigger forts if they are wealthier.

Each fort tier has different payout levels and different difficulties.

  • Yes more variety of forts would be better

  • @psk76 Hey! You are missing the Portuguese explorers which all of the ships in game came from.
