So, 2 days ago I was sailing with a buddy of mine on a sloop, doing legendary voyages.
We haven't had much PvP in the past week (The game seriously seems to be dying out...) and we saw a galleon and a sloop on the horizon for a while now.
After selling our merchant wares we prepared for war.
We sailed up to the galleon who was at an island not to far away, they seemed to have sunk the sloop we saw near them.
When we came close they turned their ship away from the island to open waters for combat, we only saw the back of the ship so far.
As we got closer and started shooting the galleon, which was already shooting us as well, we went to their sternside to get some easy hits in while they wouldn't be able to hit us back.
After blasting them full of holes they sailed away to the red sea while repairing, us behind them following.
They dropped a crewmember off several times, all without luck as they never got to board us or use a gunpowder barrel.
After they where in the red sea to far out, they had to turn back or sink, so they turned back.
Here we saw the RARE Sails turning towards us, and as we passed them I saw a player named Captain LazyBeard, now I'm pretty sure that was the Rare employee who dropped the sail cosmetics on that ship. (Name was also too long to find in "Find a player" on xbox, so couldn't message the fella)
Seeying those sails I stopped shooting and tuned in to gamechat so I could hear them/speak to them.
I was too late as the ship was too far away to be heard or to be able to hear me.
I turn around to get closer to the galleon to communicate with a Rare employee before sinking him (Mwuahaharrr, gimme more content ye scurvy dog!), but before I even reached the ship it sunk due to my buddy boarding them with a gunpowder, taking 3 out of the 4 from the crew along with himself to the ferry.
As he was on the ferry those players from that crew raged on him, like really toxic raging. (Captain LazyBeard wasn't among those 3, don't worry Rare XD)
Cursing, shouting, telling him to kill himself over and over.
I can't comprehend how this happened...
All I can think of is that Captain LazyBeard joined a random crew to test out some stuff in the game, dropped the Rare employee sails and started to journey with them randoms, unknowing of what was to come...
What do I make of this however..?
Still wondering what the hell happened... (Rare employee's wouldn't drop their sails and leave with the sails still out for random crews to use, cause this type of behavior would mess with Rare's reputation)
I guess this is a lesson for us all... If you see Rare employee sails on the horizon, it doesn't mean their whole crew is from Rare, which in turn means their actions are not Rare's actions per se.
Also I'm a bit sad I didn't get to communicate with the Rare employee, telling him to give us more content or face Davy Jones! XD
Let this also be a lesson for Rare themselves as well though... Don't put down Rare employee sails unless you're sailing with Rare employee's only, or friends from the Rare employee that dropped them, to prevent this kind of toxicity to happen under your name.
~ I put down the name of the (who I believe was the) Rare employee, not to shame him in the least, but to confirm that I actually saw a Rare employee.
Also... I don't mind letting him know it was us (OddCrayon678895 and I) that sunk him, mwuahaharrr! XD
I'll be waiting on the 3 seas for ye matey, lets have a rematch one day! ~
