  • @mad-jack-ketch thx for posting it, I was slow this time. :D

  • First thing I'm doing tonight is taking out a solo sloop exploring.

  • @mad-jack-ketch wish he addressed people camping shark bait cove. I guess in a way he said it's ok to do cuz he is really happy about the way THD has been received.

  • @blam320 but but but why must you be such a dirty....Pirate 😄

In other words Bring It Blam-boy! I’ll keep me one good eye open on the horizons fer ya!!

  • Awesome, can't wait.

  • I wish i could see the game through Mr Neates eyes, he always talks about positive social interactions and i just dont ever seem to find them anymore. :/

That's not what I meant. I meant I'm going to captain a solo sloop, and explore the isles looking fer washed-up booty.

  • Ooooooooh ......

Plus... more Drew!!!!! Safe travels Joe!

    Straw man fallacy:

An intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument.

He said he was happy about the positive social interactions that the Hungering Deep had created.

  • I'm very happy about the feedback they said they collected. Overall, I'd say they're doing very well, and they've certainly come far.

As for Joe, I wish him a very happy and relaxing vacation! Well deserved, keep up the good work!

  • @assassinsking98

Ignoring the elephant in the room

"The term refers to a question, problem, solution, or controversial issue which is obvious to everyone who knows about the situation, but which is deliberately ignored because to do otherwise would cause great embarrassment, sadness, or trigger arguments or is simply taboo"

Again...wish they would address the camping.

  • @sir-lotus I'm usually onto it. I have posted the last 3 I believe. I want to make all Pirates ARRRR in the Know! :P

  • @stubbierbell598 I am not ignoring anything, lad. I'm simply saying that, while I'm aware of the issue, when Joe said he was really happy about the positive social interactions THD had created, he wasn't saying that he was glad that there are people camping at Shark Bait Cove. Those are very two different ideas, and you were suggesting that "in a way he was glad about the camping."

Personally, I don't think the issue is as widespread as you might believe, nor do I think the devs can do much since it is the players who are camping. Tools are provided, and they can be used in different ways, for better or worse.

It's no different than people sitting at Outposts. Players in this game will congregate towards the easiest place to be able to harass others, if that is their intent.

It's not on Rare to make it so Pirates can't hurt other Pirates.

  • Wait did he say alot of ppl play this game? I thought it was dying? How will the doomsayers ever recover from this vid?
    Mr. Neate=1
    Doomsayers=0

  • @nwo-azcrack Wow... You still believe everything you're being told?
    Rare - 1567
    NWO Azcrack - 0

    just switch the server ...

  • @j3ns3n-xxii
Lol just sayin. He doesnt seemed to worried. So neither am i

  • @nwo-azcrack Would the mouthpiece of a company ever come out and scream that they are in trouble? Of course he is going to say everything is fine. He's all excited to talk numbers at E3... Well numbers are very easy to manipulate to tell any story you want, which I am sure they will inevitably do... The fact is, the number of players still playing regularly has without a doubt dropped since launch, and I find it very hard to believe that THD brought that spike back up.

  • @nwo-azcrack exactly. I kinda doubt MS would allow them to create a new 4th team for updates, if the situation was bad.

  • @j3ns3n-xxii
Im sure they dropped too. Most games do not long after launch and right before the first dlc. Im talking about all the doomsayers that make it sound like the servers are shuttin down next week. They have no proof SoT is doing bad

  • @nwo-azcrack Of course the doors wont be closing next week. They haven't introduced Micro transactions yet. The writing is on the wall dude, if THD is their idea of content then you're in for a long voyage directly into the wind... on a galleon... alone...

Yep.. that inquite me a bit too ahah.
I would like to see from where they get their information, because it isn't here, for sure. And not our public sessions...

He talks a lot about good interaction and friendships to start there. But he didn't mention it only last one hour.
Nor the difficult to find that players..
Last time I tried to do it we took an entire night to find someone and we couldn't even do it.

  • @stubbierbell598 Well you can't expect anything worse in a PvP game.

  • Can anyone make a short resview of the vid ? Can be very great for latin speakers 🙂

  • @j3ns3n-xxii actually when Pets were announced as micro-transactions, a lot of people on here were generally excited.
    Excitement leads to purchases.
    Purchases leads to income.
Income leads to money to keep making content and other items for purchase and so one.

Looks like the game will be floating for some time.

Among other, smaller fixes, items washed-up on the shores of islands have been re-enabled. Whatever was causing them to crash servers has been patched, and they can now be found in the world again.

The dev team is really pleased with how well the launch of The Hungering Deep has gone, and are amused by the friendly shenanigans people have gotten into fighting the Meg and using the speaking trumpet.

Joe is going to be at E3 next week at the Xbox booth. They're going to show a t e a s e r trailer highlighting stuff coming in the immediate future, specifically the next two major updates, Cursed Sails and Forsaken Shores.

After that, Joe will be taking a vacation. So for the next few weeks the Dev update videos will be done by Drew.

  • @blam320 thank you 🙂

  • While I agree and had hoped the difficulties that some(myself included) experienced with tackling the Hunger Deep content would be addressed the fact is we have no way of knowing if the difficulties run deep enough to the overall population to require a fix of any degree.

As far as addressing it in the video goes that is a trivial matter. Any public image scenario will hug to the positives and rightly so...I think the event went off well other than the hiccups some of us have faced. What matters most is they have collected feedback and will hopefully make the next batch of content that much better based off said feedback. My thoughts as well as others on Hungering Deeps accessibility was among the mega thread feedback so if it is deemed an issue in the big picture then I am sure they will tend to it.

Maybe I'm too hopeful but the development is in their hands so that's really all we can be. If it isn't deemed an issue then hopefully over time the constant nudge towards cooperation will change the overall mood. As it stands they threw down a 'coop' moment amidst a den of wolves, seas were bound to get rough this time around.

    As always time will tell~

  • @j3ns3n-xxii i'll admit. this was a good response.

  • I'm ready for my pet parrot that repeats everything I say.

  • @stubbierbell598 , you wrote:

    and

Again...wish they would address the camping.

What the s**g! On another thread, you boasted:

Yep. I already did THD so now I sink anyone else trying to do it. Why? To make me own fun.

walks away, shaking head in disbelief

  • @j3ns3n-xxii
Depends which side of the wall your on i guess. Ill admit they released a barebones game. But from that interview i read, it seems they heard our complaints and are getting on it. They even added a 4th team. Things are starting to look pretty good for the future of the game.

I really wish you'd stop writing on the walls in here. It's a real chore to clean.
