Fortnite has gone pirate
this is way to funny I wander if they will be able to release Rares idea before they even get to, It looks like they just put fort night skins on SOT arena trailer.
its not good I can say that rare needs to stop dragging there feet and release this before fortnight does, I wander if fortnight will allow crossplay in it ???

It has nothing to do with Sea of Thieves or affect the game in any way. Now, not everything that is pirate need to be Sea of Thieves, plus these are 2 different games, one is about being a pirate and forge your legend and other is a BR game where your character is dressed as a pirate.
Epic already copied some elements from Sea of Thieves like launching yourself from a cannon and also from Apex legends: respawn points on the map to bring back your teammates and also a skin that looks somewhat similar to a character from Apex.

Yeah, looks a little similar, the art styles aren't that far away from one another.
I guess there is only so much you can do to create a uniqueness. Pirate themes I guess follow a fairly set pattern.Anyhow, I imagine there will a fair number of people who will jump in & really enjoy it.
Possibly on my list of games to try, but I have a fairly long list of games in front of it, & a lot of sailing to do.I can certainly see why a lot of players like FN, but I'm not 1 of them; the idea that you can instantly build cover from just about anywhere is a game-breaker for me. If it wouldn't protect you until it was done being built, I might be okay with it, but the fact that the structure protects you before it's even done being built is just stupid, IMO. When it comes to BR-style games, I'm more of a PUBG guy. FN is, and always has been, the king of stealing and capitalizing on ideas, or at least making a satire out of them...
That said, I'm on the fence in regards to how it relates to SoT - on one hand, it seems like a nice nod that may bring attention to SoT, but with FN being so popular, it could easily do the opposite. I guess we'll just have to wait and sea.
...and for the record, I know we're comparing bananas to pineapples here - they are wholly different games.

As they say #bemorepirate@galactic-geek I hope that they do something so that Rare can sue them.
Fortnite just rips of all the other games and put it into their free to play. Hopefully it will just take fortnite players back and not bring in more people to their cesspool of a free to play.@xxxpirate01 Good point - does FN have swords yet?

@xxxpirate01 It's not a war because in war 1 side always loses; in this case, both can potentially still do well despite the other.

@musicmee That was actually my favorite part of the trailer. Seems like they're trying to scale things up a notch. Will we fall for the bait though?
Wouldn't it be interesting if this was some sort of behind-the-scenes collaboration or publicity stunt between Rare and EA to build hype for both games? 😋
