I can't enter the game (unknown client)

  • Good morning, I'm writing here again to see if someone can give me a solution. Since the game was updated I can't enter. When I start the game in the eac loading section I get a client error and I cannot enter. After spending several days trying to log in without any result, I decided yesterday to format the computer but I still have the same problem. When I try to contact the technical team of the game to which I have sent photos and several tickets, they only send me generic responses that the problem is in EAC but they do not give me any solution.
Someone has had this happen and has been able to solve it, among other things I have disabled the firewall and antivirus, checked the integrity of the game data, reinstalled and even formatted the computer but nothing remains with the same error.

  • @chaskanalgas I just tried the game on another computer and surprise, the same error on the same account on two different computers.

  • I have the same error, when trying to play through the MS store version of the game.

This is incredibly frustrating, given the current event going on.

I asked support for help, and for some reason I got a reply from Forza Support?!

  • I have the same problem. Have you found a solution?

  • I too get this issue.

I have reinstalled the game from Xbox app, reinstalled Windows, repaired the game but to no avail.

Even the latest updates, the issue still happens. I have never touched the Client in question.

  • I have the same problem..

Oddly turned on the game, saw the weird 2024 edition title. Verified game, re-installed, still have same EAC issue of

    Launch Error
    Unrecognized Game Client. Unknown Error.

The issue CLEARLY is Easy Anti Cheat and Xbox and they should both be accountable for the errors everyone is getting trying to simply launch the game. It's so disappointing to see them continue to point fingers at one another. Clearly there are people at both companies that have no idea what they are doing and they need to hire competent people.

  • I found an easy solution.
You just have to click on the SeaofThieves.exe and change the name to SoTGame.exe it will open the game and all but you won't be able to go online and the game will kick you saying "anti-cheat violation".
I'll be updating soon if i find something to fix the anti cheat violation problem.
Hope it gives you guys some hopes to continue and find a solution for all the community, because as we all know RARE doesn't give a f abt its community and isn't going to take responsibility in order to fix their game.

  • Same issue, need a fix

  • I have the same problemi!

  • SOLVED:
Not kidding here... (1) Uninstall SoT; (2) then you have to download fortnite throught the Epic Games Launcher; (3) download and reinstall SoT and it should launch as normal.

  • (Xbox client for Windows - Solved):
In my case, this issue was occurring because the hard drive I moved my installation files to had "enable compression" activated under the device properties. After turning this feature off and reinstalling the game files I was able to load back in.

  • hi, uninstall the game on Xbox app then go on the root folder ( where the game will be download) on your (C:) or (D:) or whatever, right click on the Xbox Games folder then properties, click on advanced and uncheck "compress contents to save disk space" after that reinstall the game and it should work perfectly
