    I hope this is not arrogant of me, but I decided to draw for you the idea of a new boss, and also came up with features for him.alt text

    So:
    Leviathan

    According to legends, Leviathan in most stories is a huge monster, amazing in size ...
    But I don’t know who you would like to represent as the main and most powerful opponent, so I suggest you choose the size (if you like the idea).

    Habitats and behavior: Usually lives at great depths, but goes hunting to the surface. He loves rocky areas and sunny weather (snakes like to bask in the sun). He has a sharp ear, so he goes where there is a lot of noise. He is rather persistent in pursuing prey.

    Varieties of attacks, weaknesses and behavior in battle:
    On the sketch I indicated the weaknesses of his body color: this is the mouth, nose, neck, back of the body and the tip of the tail (where the stripes)
    Hit them will cause critical damage.
    Places such as plates on the neck, top of the head, at the paws (and the paws themselves) are pretty well protected and the damage will be reduced.

    During his appearance in front of the player, he defiantly emerges and grinds his teeth, pushing out his jaw (I pulled out the whole jaw, and not just teeth like snakes) In battle, usually stands near the side of the ship, (like the tentacle of a kraken), and tries to knock the player off decks. When it receives critical damage, hisses very loudly. Before attacking the ship (with a jerk with its mouth open, it bared 2 large fangs), gets up in a characteristic pose (like a snake) and looks exactly where it is going to strike. When it hits the ship, it always leaves 2 large penetrations and periodically 2 more small ones.
    When standing at the side of the ship it usually attacks with a stream of boiling water (since this is a water snake, I decided that there would be boiling water, not poison)
    Boiling water causes periodic damage and passes over time.
    Able to capture ships as kraken:
    He does this with his paws, trying to crush the ship under water, and at the moment of such a capture, he always keeps his head at the bow of the ship.

    To loosen his grip, you will need to beat him in the nose, eyes or mouth so that Leviathan will let go.
    You can force him to let go with swords or firearms

    about the color of the skin, it's your choice)

    I would also suggest adding 3 varieties of leviathan

    ordinary (spits with boiling water) lava (lives with volcanoes and spits with lava) and deep (spits with mucus, which does not damage, but slows down for a while)

    Of these three, the deepest would be the rarest and most timid; for the most part, he would avoid fights.

  • It's definitely not arrogant; in fact, most of the world events present today, most notably the Megalodon, began life as community-suggested content.

    Your design for the Leviathan is actually very similar to my own suggestion for a Sea Serpent type of boss; it would certainly round out our world boss options, between the many-tentacled Kraken and the biting, gnashing Meg.

    Hypothetically, then, it could also have a mix of moves similar to the Meg and Kraken. For example, it could coil itself around a ship similar to the Kraken, and have a "tail swipe" attack similar to the Kraken's slap, and then have a "charging bite" move similar to the Meg.

  • I would much prefer the leviathan be a massive crab-like creature. It goes against the traditional sense of a leviathan, but I think that could actually be a good thing.

    I would like to see it pick up your ship within its claws and try to crush it. Or bull rush it with it's hard shell. Or climb on top of your ship with its 6 spindly legs and grapple with 1 of your masts. Or perhaps simply punching your boat would do. Unlike other fights, you'd have to aim for weak points, or exposed portions of its armor - eyes, joints, mandibles, etc. in order to defeat it. Also, unlike other encounters, it would specifically target swimmers over their ship and pluck them right out of the water.

    It’s about this that I added paws: the original idea was to capture the ship and pressure it (also biting the mast), but in my opinion it will be difficult to implement in the game and the boss will be too complicated, as well as the Leviathan should be large enough. Also, if players have drawdowns with FPS, heavy and complex battles will be a big problem.

    I described that my version of Leviathan likes to bask in the sun (like snakes) and rocky terrain.This is exactly the way to go on land, It would like it to crawl out with the first half of the body and lay half curled on the rock, showing its massive body.
    Also, in my version, the plates on the body and the points on them are visible. I wanted to offer a mechanic with them so that the players knocked these plates off, removing the protection from the boss. But again, I think that it will be too complicated mechanics, so I decided that where the highlighted parts are there, and there is a weak spot, it’s easy enough to understand even when seeing for the first time.
    I think if make a boss with more hp, he will already provide a lot of problems.

    As for the view in the form of a crustacean. For me, crabs, crayfish and the like look cute and even if it is huge, I won’t be scared. Besides, if such a creature is to climb onto the players ship, the players themselves will not have a safe place in the sea and they will clog in the corners or jump to escape. I believe that the ship should remain on the water and just be under attack, without frills.
    It is necessary to maintain a balance.

    BUT, I think that it would be possible to add the crab boss in one of the plot stories, or to a new island, for example, the island of the king of crabs) only the crabs themselves need to be added)

    During the capture, as I described, Leviathan holds his face at the bow of the ship, but this does not mean that he will calmly take blows) he will try to bite, not often, but he will protect himself.
    About the tail, I don’t know how feasible this is, but I wanted to do so (since the tail is a weak spot, it rarely shows it): when changing sides, when the Leviathan swims under water and changes the ship side to attack, he might try to hit by tail to throw away at least 1 player.
    But then again, I don’t know how feasible this is, nor will it be too much

    To bring down players, he has a stream of boiling water from his mouth, and he can also just bite while standing on his side. It is he who makes a jerk into the ship by bending and this can be seen where, due to the fact that his head and gaze are directed to a specific point on the ship.
