  • @regis-stella I'm not a table top gamer, but that's pretty cool. Also happens that the official store is down for renovations at the moment. Perhaps it'll be showing up there soon?

  • Yes! It was posted on Twitter too earlier...

  • Pre ordered it as soon as I saw this! :-)
If my group doesn't kill Strahd by the end of the year I fear that I need to party whipe and play a different game ^_^

  • I was a Rolemaster DM for 7 years
    OMG XD

  • There's also some rewards for pre-ordering it:

  • steep price, but i cannot resist...

  • I'm completely hyped.
Half of my childhood i build worlds and campaigns for AD&D and Rolemaster by Qeens Games.

I just read it is about GM and players and there is a journey Bookm and i'm curious if i can build journeys and stories.

Damn i need the lore books :D

  • Uhm, I'm intrigued by the possible game system, especially in how its done the ship simulation and all the social aspect. But despite wanting to preorder the game, it would be cool if they pour more details of how the game works because I've already found (after a lot of games played) a system I enjoy and I don't want to bother in learning a poor one...

  • Can a weekly stream quickly get it going in prototype?
We need more description of gameplay.

Is it Mice and Mystics type of continuation, where you need a constant group of players, or more like a betrayal at house/baulders or where each session starts anew for "session based" improvements (Just like the game!).

    @bugaboo-bill
its set up like a standard rpg so you can create youre own adventures :)
3 books. rule book. lore book and journey book.
i believe the journey book has 4 starter journeys so you can set sail right away.

Watch the full move if you like, it's very funny :D

I'm excited, i just dont know who will play with me :-)
Bit i will play it for sure!!!

  • @mr-dragon-raaar Yeah, the problem is the price, I don't want to buy a 50€ game to be "forced" to adapt its system to our current preferences (because I do that yet in every world I create XD). What I want to know is if the system is for example a mod of D20, D100, a good gauss one, an "special" one like Sombra, etc. From there, I could adapt more or less to what I want, but if I can only use the lore, I could do that with any system so why to buy it?

Asking to you and @TheUnionJames , and giving me only a few info that don't spoil or violate the copyright or something if you can, is it detailed in the social aspects or is another Pathfinder/D&D where that is secondary? Is the ship combat system detailed or is another "arcade" like 7th Sea? From the page, I assume its an easy to start one (not like Anima where you need to do a doctorate to make the character coherently), but does the character creation have any depth?

  • @mr-dragon-raaar sagte in Sea of Thieves Role-playing Game. (It's real):

@bugaboo-bill cheers. i have the same problem :) havent played rpgs for over 20 years. it could be fun to reminisce over a few beers tho.

i'll try to play with my daughter and maybe some of her friends :D
I knew some people still playing shadowrun P&Per and do LARPS, so maybe they will play with me, because they also play SoT, but very casually as they have other games they play more often.

I wanted to link that Video at min 15:15 to show my reaction :D
but somethng went wrong i guess.

ah question: i checked my Moongoose account cannot find the eBook, checked at downloadable content only, but nothing.
    any tip?
    also to @TheUnionJames

edit: @Amancebacabras i think the dices are somwhat specific because of the symbols they have and also sell a legendary dice set.
It is for sure some risk and for sure expensive. Around 95 Euro for me with the Dice Set, but ok, i can do that. If the RPG TT Game is as good as SoT all is fine for me :D

  • @mr-dragon-raaar

checked that and wrote them an email as i dont have anything in that section, but i got an order confirmation.

Sounds interesting, i also think it won't be rocket science like Rolemaster is, but that's completely fine as long as it is fun.

I like the setting and all that. I'm sure i wont be disappointed.

  • Will be it translated in another language ? French as example ?

  • Not cheap...

And I loved the fact that you had to click on the 30£ product to realize that the physical version which contains the code for the sails is actually... 60£

    Great.

  • Did a first and quick read of this and that and want to say that i very much love the aproach on playing a game Rare has.
The fun focus and all that.

We need more of that in Adventure mode.
Less focus on progression, more focus on having fun and caring for each other.

It's like the videogame takes some sort of a different aproach to do a pet and paper like RPG, but i think it's cool, but i need to dig deeper and make my own experiences with other players.

    Other players...
This makes me thinking about the fact that a games you play very much rely on the other players.

To all Pirates out there, friendly, lazy, aggressive, smart, thieving, murdering, generous, mercifull, helping...

Take care for your fellow players!
You have only them and no guarantee to get new ones!!!

We are all Pirates, even those who do not steal kill and sink others.
We are here together, we are here to have fun.
We can all have fun playing the game if we respect each other and take care for each other.
And thats true for PvP and PvE focussed players.
At best become a PvPvE player :-)

All have fun in the Sea of Thieves!
Good winds and big booty to all of you.
    ~Bill

    P.s. I want the sails NOW!!! :-D

  • The Name of the Sails is suspicious! It’s Lord Guardian, is this an Skeleton Lord or something called Guardian or is it only an Title or an meaningless Item description:/

Im most interested in the Lore Book from the TT Game, maybe it’s teasing new things for future updates like Regions, Skelly Lords or Monsters!?

  • @mr-dragon-raaar said in Sea of Thieves Role-playing Game. (It's real):

@Amancebacabras ive just had a quick skim through the rules. as @Bugaboo-Bill says the system uses "legendary dice" which are essentially just d6.
you get given a certain amount of these depending on experience. 2 for starting. 7 for pl.
tasks/situations require these to be rolled and "victories" counted.
its a bit different from anything ive previously played as there are no stats/character sheets. it mirrors the game quite well in that regard.
all in seems a fairly simple concept which would probably be as complex as you want to make it.
    hope this helps a little.

it is quite a steep price so can understand your reluctance. especially sight unseen.

It sounds kind of like the system for fantasy flight's star wars rpg. If it is, it's a really great dice system.

  • @regis-stella
Man, this looks awesome! I probably won't get it( I'm involved in a couple D&D campaigns rn), but it seems really cool. I hope they have theatrical gameplay similar to age of rebellion/edge of the empire/force and destiny. These are star wars rpgs by fantasy flight that are very versatile.

  • Oh and btw to all who are interested and already asked like @Amancebacabras.

I read you can use normal 6sided dice as well. No need for the extra dices with symbols.
You can just match 1-6 to the symbols on the dices as far as i have understood it.
There was for sure a sentence that says you can use normal dice.
