Honestly, I got 15 in 2 hours.

Island hopping (small islands and forts only), shipwreck searching, and nothing else.

I should point out that sometimes the twinkling animation of the gems don’t always show up when passing an island. It pays off to get on the island and just run the perimeter (hence why I stuck to small islands only)

For instance, I was passing mermaids hideout, and saw nothing from my ship. Once I was on land, the twinkling animation pulled through. I found 4 gems on that island alone, and had it not been for getting off and searching on foot, I’d have missed out.

My advice? Stick to the left side of the map and just visit every island from shark bait to smugglers bay. Then back down again (gems spawn in). That worked for me. Yesterday I needed 40 gems in total. Today I need just 5. Forts too. I almost always find washed up gems at a fort’s shore.

Hopefully someone here who is seeking out gems today will spot you an invite just to help boost you up :)

@eggamer13 just do a couple of forts and kill megs/krakens 15 is easily attainable in less then 24 hours

Megs and kraken can each drop gems and forts usually have 2~4 in them

Well, I got everything except cashing in 20 gems to OoS and MA. And the ”do everything” comms for the same companies.

Had I known that everything would be time limited from the get-go, I probably would've dedicated more time to just looking for gems.

I got the cosmetics, but I'm annoyed that I may never get those titles.

Always assume that EVERYTHING from each event is time limited since that is the point of them, to give you 2 weeks to get all the commendations completed as they are released.

Larger primary updates span a month, smaller events are 2 weeks, up to 4 only if the next maint window is further down the line instead of the planned normal schedule.

When it comes to this event the only thing staying is the Gems as a drop from forts, megs, kraken, wrecks and washed up instead of just from the statues. You might be able to complete the related commendations if they are still in progress but at a slower rate since the drop rate for them is going to be brought to normal.

I tell you, of all those that complain about micro transactions, this is the only game I’ve (personally) ever played that makes me want to buy its MTs to give back to the dev after all of this free support.

I expected the voyages to be time limited. Hence why I tried to get those comms done ASAP. I figured everything else would remain a permanent feature (like they've been doing since the beginning), and the other comms would still be completable (at a slower rate, due to the absence of Black Powder Runs). Then, about halfway through the event's timeframe, they say everything is time-limited...

Needless to say, I'm a tad frustrated.

It's why I tell folks to set aside a day or two say the weekend and get with other folks that want to complete it all to just focus it down. I mean on average I complete all these events in the first 2-3 days they are live.

Do we know what the relics update is exactly? Do they release this info before it goes live or do we have to find out for ourselves?
