Brigantine - Fell in Love

    I feel embarrassed to admit. But I was sailing along in my solo Galleon, feeling slower than usual. But really I feel I just encountered two good sloop players who really gave me the rope a dope in maneuvers which is expected. But I was hugging a storm because, really, you can't solo the storm in the Galleon as well.

    And there was this most beautiful looking profile in the water, riding the storm majestically near a tropical harbor.

    A Brigantine.

    I didnt even care about the loot. I wanted to try it finally, having avoided it because I like extremes, extremely fast, or extremely nimble.

    Well the Brigantine is extremely deadly.

    As solo I think I made my first about 20,000 in loot from only kills. The kills felt better. And for the first time I was solo launching from cannons over/at ships to lob firebombs.

    Brig is so fast feeling, much better reacting, and a fine ship. Everything described about it can be felt. Durable, powerful, fast.

    Great fit for someone looking to do more than a sloop really can and to still keep up with them in maneuvers to take them down.

    I will probably solo-Brig as my main from now on.

    All the lessons from sailing solo-Galleon will be put to good use.

    Maybe. Haha. I know it's capable. But I feel so slow on the travel and that's what's off putting me the most. I love the Galleon for its sailing power.

    When I'm not exhausted I can definitely solo travel and limited engage with the beast.

    But I think the Brig will meet allll my desires 😏

    I got through all this too.

    the Sloop was ok,
    the Galleone was super cool with friends.
    Alone it was ok and all, but when it came to PvP, no chance, just a big disadvantage.
    Have to say some stuff played out a little different back in 18/19 when we think about Forts were the only event you could do etc...
    When the Brig was implemented i instantly fell in love.
    Beautifull, very fast, good turnspeed, no problem to manange it solo.
    But then they nerfed Encounters for Sloops and Brigantines and Gellones get the harder Encounters.
    If you solo these bigger vessels its not allways a matter of skill, but also luck to survive. you just can have bad luck and a Skalleone completley wrecks you without any chance to do anything against CCB's etc.

    for PVP the Solo-Brigg is maybe good to run and do drive by selling.
    For PvP solo i wasn't able to manage it that efficient like i can manage a sloop solo.
    After some month - have to say i barely solo at all - i tried the sloop for soloing alone and figured out i am even against fully manned Brig more comfortable in a sloop.
    with time i started to love the Sloop for soloing and imho its also better for a Duo if we talk about PvP.
    But there are days i still solo or Duo a Brigantine, depends a lot of what i want to do and in what mood i am.
    For PvP i prefer the vessel that fits the crew size the best and see very small to no advantages to solo or duo a bigger ship than a sloop.
    For others things and to be fast, the Brigantine is the way to go.
    But if you have to fight it's a disadvantage no matter how good you are. In the aproriate vessel you would be better!

    Thanks a lot. It's fun to see the mastery progression lands you back on sloop.

    How is it some things can only be done for Galleon?

    A skelleon?

    If that is the standard skeleton galleon I planned to kill that by just reducing sail to enough to keep a forward heading and just repair and put holes in it...

    The water buck splash on self trick works really well for putting out fires.

    I haven't tried yet though.

    Got preoccupied with other things in game last night Haha
