Merrick's funeral

    Even though Merrick still exists, it is best to bury his body as he no longer will return to the Sea of the living as he stated in the Humter's Cry adventure. Everyone in the Hunter's call will be present at Shark Bait Cove at the camp where Merrick was first found. Derrick (the son of Merrick) will give a speech about Merrick of how great of a hunter and a father he was. Serik will also have something to say about Merrick. After they're done talking, they'll give you a queue to bury his coffin. When Merrick is burried, Serik will give Derrick Merrick's jacket to continue his legacy. Merrick will watch from afar as he sees his family cry. Our beloved hunter must rest in peace, so he will. His spirit might still be present on the Thieving Seas, but it's the right thing to do.

    I imagine Merrick's farewell being like the end of Big Fish

    all the different unique and eccentric characters that filled pages of his story and his fisherman's tales, show up to send him off. A tribute to a life that blurred the lines between imagination and true adventure.

    Great point! No, excellent point! But when we uncovered the murderer, they say he's still out there someshere in the Damned Sea. I have high hopes for Demarco being spiritually alive! Again, excellent point!

    They did tease in the christmas stream that it will likely be called "port merrick" while they are keeping the statue covered and said it will have a special stream to unravel the name when they uncover the statue, if it isnt called port merrick and the statue isnt of him, i think everyone will be shocked.

    Why would the Bones of Reapers rebuild Merrick if he is a nuicanse to them? He prevented them from making a garison on Golden Sands, so why would they want to rebuild him?

    So if the not a big bully pirates decide to bring him back they can't because they still have the body.... in pieces... can't revive if you ain't whole...
