What should i do?

  • Ive played sea of thieves on and off for a year, sometimes on different accounts. I love the game but its starting to feel extremely repetitive and boring, i just want to know if maybe theres someone out there who can help me feel the excitment I have previously felt. like i wont stop playing the game but i just to be entertined and happy when i play instead of bordem. Like i said the game is amazing and i will always love it and will always play it but please help me find a way to restore that feeling.

  • Just start getting into PvP more if you haven't already. It's great fun and due to the way PvP works I don't think I'll ever get tired of this game. For the most part all I do is sink ships now as it's the most fun for me.

  • @mustardpie14 Not going to lie, my chances when im in ship battles or pvp (sword and gun) fights my chances of doing good are basically 3/10. It doesnt bother me for the most part but it is somewhat frustrating at times. For some reason i cant even join arena it just doesnt load for me. i do appreciate your advice and i willbe sure to attempt to do more pvp.

  • @jacoboakes10 Do you play with others often? If not, try finding some other pirates to crew up with - the better and friendlier they are (towards you), the better for you. I've been playing almost daily since the closed alpha, and I'm still learning about new stuff. Trust me when I say that if you think you know about, or have tried everything, you haven't come close to cresting that wave yet.

I'm currently available for the foreseeable future, so anytime I'm online and you wanna crew up, feel free to ask. 🙂

Something you can do that really changes the feel of the game is vote on a voyage and then scuttle your ship and do your adventure on a rowboat. You have one life, you have limited ammo, you have no map table. You are also relatively invisible to other crews. Your voyage is more significant this way. More intense and memorable if you haven't done it much. Threats like skeleton ships, megs, and krakens are virtually nonexistent, but players and skeletons can be a game ender. You are forced to play differently and every tiny bit of progress feels amplified due to the higher stakes. Things like portable ammo crates and supply crates are your best friends and feel much more valuable when you find them. One mistake can ruin everything but if you finish and cash in, it is that much sweeter.

  • @galactic-geek i typically play with my friend and he feels the same but it would be interesting to play with someone new. Ill be busy until saturday afternoon but ill be sure to add you and you can play with me and my friend.

  • I always have a good time in the official sea of thieves discord! There's always several crews sailing, all with different goals in mind. Also, meeting new people each time is refreshing!

  • @scallywagmango I dont really know much about dicord honestly.

  • @jacoboakes10 Honestly the best way is to take a break until new content comes out, but if that's not for you then try everything you haven't done like tall tales getting all the Athena commendations ect ect.

I'm sorry to inform you that what you are experiencing is a issue of the millenial generation.

That feeling of excitement is never coming back, that happens when you become used to something... It stops being exciting... A lot of millenials are addicted to this excitement, and don't seem to be interested in more enduring and long-lasting feelings.

I'll tell you what helps, but the answer isn't satisfying to hear: Stop being addicted to excitement, if the only reason you're doing something is because it's exciting, it's a short-lived hobby/activity, because excitement is short-lived... if you do something, because it fills you with satisfaction and joy, that's something long-lasting that you wont ever be sick of.

I understand your dilemma, as I to have an issue with not knowing what to do... my best advise is team up with others, they tend to have goals and a direction to follow.

Let me decide and I will do things like head into a kraken and the crew going Why are we heading into the Kraken? Then the answer tends to be CoT is behind the steering wheel and my answer why not... it is right here.

Other than that I tend to PvP as a solo, sail at the biggest shiny thing I see or do a tale. Player interaction with others, be it friendly or hostile.

I promise you doing Fort of The Damned will bring you all the Excitement you will need!
