    Hello!!
    We know that Sea of Thieves is in the Microsoft store.
    But few know that it is the safest gaming store of all.
    To date, the most played games in this store do not exist in pirated copies.
    There are no cheating programs.

    But I know that it may be possible for that to happen.

    I would like to know if Rare plans to use an anti-cheating system in case this happens.

    Even, since they are also part of Microsoft studios, I would like to know if they would use the Game Monitor for Windows 10. from the following URL.

    And maybe I'm wrong and really the microsoft store is very safe, but I do not usually believe in such a thing.

    What do you all think about this?
    We are talking about a pirate game that can not be pirated. XD

    @lightning-yata Unfortunately every game will always have cheaters, however like you said with microsoft behind them its not going to be made easy for them.

    I don't think Rare will divulge any details to us on how they plan to combat hackers or cheaters due to not wanting to help them. But i wouldn't worry about it to much, its in both Rares and Microsoft best interests to keep cheating to a bare minimum as it can make or break a games reputation and playerbase. :)

    @lightning-yata Statistically, the chances of running into hackers/cheaters in most games is pretty low, so compounding that on a game that will have barriers to drop this figure even lower, I'm hoping it won't be much of an issue at all.

    @lightning-yata Im pretty sure it has been brought up before but i cant remember where it was so i cant link you the response. Its possible it might of been one of there podcasts.

    And even if they dont respond, they are always watching. Trust me in that, they have eyes everywhere :P This is not your ordinary forums or development team aha. :)

    Anti-piracy methods have been speculated on and discussed countless times in the early days of the forums but, hasn't been discussed much lately.

    I've said several times, I don't think hackers are going to be much of an issue in this game. There will be players attempting to use gameplay tricks (bots, etc.) but, with this being a dynamic world, I don't see them working out very well.

    As for hacking to add gold or equipment, what would be the point? It would take too much effort to hack the servers (owned by Rare / Microsoft), find their personal data, change it, and log out without being caught. Would it really be worth all that just to lose access to the game (and probable legal prosecution) in the end?

    Sorry to derail, your thread just reminded me of this. It's a Dutch article about the closed beta, it gave me an ad by Microsoft saying "And now they all call me Paula Pirate. You're not the only one that has something to lose, choose legitimate software." I had a good chuckle at least.

    @KnifeLife I want to correct you on your grammar there so badly, but then I'd have to triple check my own sentences in the future haha.

    @gerbenhol Ahh go for it you wont be the first or last aha! Im terrible at it, bloomin dyslexia always makes an a**e out of me. Ill just have to try and pass it off as me taking one to many cannon balls to the head! :P

    I think I need my own personal deckhand to edit my posts for me and make them understandable to everyone paha. :D

    @knifelife Damn it, you just had to ruin it for me, didn't you? I was going to go to sleep with a smile, knowing I was the superior speller! But I can't now I know it's due to dyslexia.

    And dibs on that deckhand, but for translating purposes. I may know how to spell, but even my own family doesn't understand what to make of my incoherent babbling half of the time.

    Games will always have Butt-hats(get it?). Rare has been on top of any issue that has risen, so i'm confident they will deal with any hacking attempt. Yea, you might run into a couple, but could almost guarantee they will be dealt with quickly.
