New Skeleton Accuracy After Patch
The pistol better not be nerfed, or it will be catering towards casuals, which will be the downfall of the game.
Currently forts are the only challenge in the game, other than players. Even then, pistol wielding skeletons can be easily dispatched when breaking line of sight, so to nerf them would make lazy players out of us all, just fighting skeletons in open field, not taking damage.
I do not want to see the nice challenges that are presented in this game ruined by a sea of tears.
I would like to see people learn how to overcome the obstacle, not cry it into submission.

I meant skeleton accuracy with them, and this game already appeals to casuals plenty with its combat system being full of delays. Back in earlier testing phases Skeletons used to be insanely accurate with their shots.
@aristonsparta I mean, I'd rather have that than being shot in the face by cannonballs everytime I'm entering a fort. Literally in the face while driving, I'm not exaggerating. It used to happen quite a few times.
The easy fix is to make the aim worse, but what this game really needs is a seriously reworking of the AI (and PvE combat more generally).
Skeletons need more branching behaviors. Right now all enemy AI in this game feels completely broken and exploitable. Every skeleton behavior in this game is so transparently limited.
Pistol accuracy wasn't changed in the last patch, last I checked.
Cannon accuracy I was pretty much fine with. It was always the pistol accuracy that was the problem. You could be running, zig-zagging and bunny-hopping all at once and still get nailed by five consecutive shots, resulting in insta-death.
@aristonsparta yeah, actually, their aim never bothered me or my crew mates, instead of changing those aims, they should have changed pistol aims, they are the best aimbot around

the game is trying to cater to everyone, but caterign to no one
and its meant to be marketed towards kids
so its more than likely going to be made more and more casual
They should have changed only the distance at which they were accurate.
it was honest BS when you're on a sloop (small boat) and they can hit you with absurdly high shots (you could see the cannons pointed almost straight up). One of those landing on the helm would knock you off and sink your ship if you were solo.
But getting in close right now is kinda ridiculous, it feels like they're aiming straight down.@splatulated Trying to cater to casuals will be the death of the game.
Hardcore supporters are what populates the game, and listening to anyone who doesn't have THE GAME'S best interest at heart will only end in disaster.

The game is meant to be casual, not some hardcore PvP game. That's why it's so easy to jump in and just go do stuff in the world. You don't have to grind for skills, you don't have to grind for ships. All you have to do, is to jump ingame and have fun. So listening to casual players is exactly what they should do.
@tuukkatl I disagree, but I think we are using different definitions.
I am using casual as a term for a certain type of gamer. I believe you are using casual to refer to a certain type of play style.
I do not want to see the game cater to those who don't put in the hard work, as this is counter logical. If you lower standards, it requires less work to accomplish, which equates to less game play, which means less people playing your game. Granted one can't take this too far, like Destiny. But I think Rare is doing well so far.

Maybe get off the wheel and dodge them a little or go in the map room

Casual means low skill now?

Oh yeah you are right, we did define it differently. I do now see your point and agree with you :)

When I said skills, I didn't mean player skill, but skill like for example in Albion online where you have to unlock certain levels in weapons to open new skills to use.

"SKELETONS R TOO ACCURATE FIX PLZ"
rare listens and fixes for you
"OMG WHAT U DUN CHANGE IT BACK"
Indeed.
Makes me feel bad for Rare.
except at a raid, the cannon were no problem for me when i played solo, sure sometimes they blast me but never sunked me,even when i shot a skellie on cannon n parked exact on that spot, got killed on island n the respawn skellie shot my sloop i dosent sunked.but thats the most annoying point when u play alone, the respawning skellies on cannons (if u parked in fron of a cannon).the problem now is it seems eyeryone drives to the raid ,had yesterday 5 ships at a raid
@mattydove74 yeah I do that, but have you seen how many cannons sometimes shoot your ship at once? Sometimes the blast from the explosion can even throw you off the ship, especially in a sloop, maybe not so much in the galleon.
@mattydove74 I really didn't mind skeletons being really scary when approaching a fort honestly. The island ones were annoying but that's pretty much it.
@sorenthaz You are saying they arent insanely accurate with their shots ?
I was trying to do order of souls with the girlfriend, i could physically see the frustration grwoing on her face as the pistols kept almost oneshotting her through the hull of the sloop when she tried to hide below deck to eat some bananas. The aim is utterly ludicrous , i am fine with them aiming and getting lucky with shots like that sometimes but its every time...
