I remember sinking my first Pirate Legend, and it placed a sour taste in my mouth for that group.
Me and my crew were docked at Golden Sands, and we see a Pirate Legend literally come for the same dock. Methinks that they have a good majority of their Athena's Quest done, or all done to be turned in... so, what do we do? We intervene and broadside them. They got SO MAD at us... but, what do you expect when you're rolling up on a docked ship?
They called us names and swore out their tongues as we sank them and stole all their loot for ourselves... and these are Pirate Legends, boys and girls. What a folly to drive yourself into the same dock as us, and expect VIP treatment or to demolish us because you can wear a purple costume. All in all, it was hilarious. It also made me think though, does this status of "legend" really place a guise on some players? That they feel they're invincible? Other Pirate Legend encounters weren't as folly as this crew, but even they got mad as well. I feel once you place on those legend sails and make yourself stick out like a sore thumb, you're technically a larger target and enabled "Hard Mode".
Now this doesn't go for all Pirate Legends, but you can't ignore the fact a whole lot of them got their through the Merchant cheese, (before the fix w/o penalty), and AFK leeching, the "Prodigy streamer" debacle. It's just the last handful of legends we've sank think it's the end of the world.
