Skeletons drop gold...

  • How about skeletons drop gold after you kill them since it is hard enough gathering gold to buy things, this can be random and not all of them give you gold but that way it encourages fighting skeletons instead of them being just an annoyance, also have specific islands where there are golden skeletons or the plant ones and this would keep ups going back to them.
    Example
    -Unarmed skeletons - 1 coin
    -Sword skeletons - 3 coins
    -Gun skeletons - 5 coins
-Plant skeletons and gold skeletons can be a bit higher as well as the shadow ones.

  • It's supposed to be difficult to accumulate enough coin to make purchases.

  • @gatorwocky and it is but that amount of gold would not be enough to say its easy its just a way of getting something for fighting skeletons as at that rate you would probably make more with a castaway chest than playing for hours on just killing skeletons.

  • @eva1977 Somebody got her loot stolen and wants a way to make gold without the threat of incoming players... Got you there...

  • @carlosylu Actually not, the amount I have lost has been so low that is does not matter yet my main concern is I want to buy things but the grind is annoying especially if you play solo on the higher levels.

  • @eva1977 Play as a team on a galleon and do some forts, buy what you want and then continue solo'ing the sloops afterwards. I mean, if what you want is to get gold as a solo sloop, your only chance is to do gold hoarders, and even so, if you're past level 35, you¿ll know that the skelleton spawning never stops anymore, so, it's even more complicated.

I don't know, I just enjoy way more to play this game as a crew (it's amazing) cause if what I want is a difficulty challenge, then why am I in SOT and not in Dark Souls series?

  • @carlosylu yeah but my point was not just about making gold but getting something randomly from skeletons aside from them just as mentioned them being an annoyance in my opinion, besides sometimes people are not on the same page when it comes to playing with others or my friends that do play are playing other games so this is just a simple idea not a game changer.

  • @eva1977 wow, not a well received idea hmm?

i totally agree with this. give me a reason to want to kill these guys. yah they are there for a bit of challenge but it does often end with me just being annoyed more than anything. if i got a few coins in the process that would ease the annoyance to acceptable levels haha.

and if you killed 100 and they were 5 a piece thats only 500 coins barely one decent chest. so it certainly isnt a game breaking idea. i support this! id like a reason to kill sharks as well haha. BUT NOT SNAKES! SNAKES ARE JUST MISUNDERSTOOD!!

  • @eva1977 The problem I see with the idea is that players would "abuse" this feature, cause, in a gold hoarders mission higher than lvl 30 the normal skells never stop spawning, so... Everyone would take advantage on that wouldn't they?

  • Aye, the 'loot' system is elementary at best. Can't even open your chests for goodness sakes. It would be nice if they dropped gold, supplies, and cosmetics imo.

Though I'm sure your general reply is going to be, "absolutely not, that doesn't fit in with RARE's vision of the game", like that means anything at this point.

  • @revanjstone Exactly my point!

  • @carlosylu like i posted, youd have to kill 100 just to get 500 (about one marauders) to grind this way would be mind numbing but if thats someones thing then go for it. not to mention no rep

  • @carlosylu but as RevanJStone mentioned 100 would be barely 500 so it is not a form that can be abused instead just alleviates the skeleton fights especially at higher levels

  • @gatorwocky When you physically have skeletons made of gold, this makes 0 sense.

  • @kashaarafall funny but true :)

  • @kashaarafall they could have a chance to drop a bronze trinket haha

  • @revanjstone See there is always its just about the developers hearing us out and maybe just maybe but i doubt it as it would have to be something extremely popular for them to notice. :(

  • @eva1977

I have to say I agree with you there. Its not about getting gold, for me. There is enough bounty to go around for everyone - whether you are a solo or a crew player. It's about the annoyance of it all. As an example: You attempt to dig up a chest and 8 skeletons with guns come at you before you can put your shovel away. It just takes a little of the annoyance off it. You know, especially for those of us who play solo...... and for any crew member who helps assist in the dispatching of said skellies. :-)

  • This is the way i see it, when playing the classic Zelda for the Nes i remember i actually looked forward to fighting the bad guys even the simplest one because there was a chance i could get a few coins and then buy some bombs or some potion or whatever but the point is the incentive to fighting them is what made sense and currently it makes no sense in this game, it only makes it difficult but in an odd way as they are unrelenting at higher levels and if I can run around them i do as there is no point in standing and fight.

  • Well if people like my idea just like it and comment and maybe get developers to listen to this idea which is not game breaking.

So we can run around picking it up? Sounds like a terribly boring thing to have to do.

To be fair it sounds more fun than the current, boring gameplay loops offered by the three factions.

  • If they implement making gold off skeletons they have to implement taking gold from you on death or by other means.

  • @seedy-platypus well its actually impossible to please everyone's needs in this game but the idea is not a game changer or breaker just an enhancement as you don't have to do this but in its current state the options are the same minus the incentive.

  • @eva1977

How about when an Xbox player kills a PC player, they drop gold which can only be picked up by Xbox players.

  • @endosku11 yeah its called buying items which are so expensive besides you dont see the point which is not about making huge amounts of gold but rather have you come back to fight skeletons and actually looking forward to it or is there a single person that looks forward to that? i guarantee you there is not.

  • @eva1977 It's not that hard to make gold - it's just one boring grind. If killing things give you gold - dying has to take it away - it's just a silly balance - but it would have to be done - because if not they just raise the prices on cosmetics again - because that's how they decided to balance their progression. Oops.

  • @endosku11 Well i guess you don't notice that the option is random not a given, and the low amount is not worthy of saying i will kill for hours and buy me that gun.

  • It doesn't matter to me - I'm just looking at it from RARE's viewpoint - They wouldn't just give gold drops without countering it with death tax or cosmetic prices going up - just because the track record is "be kind create grind"

    :)

  • @dutchyankee just yesterday i played with a legendary crew and the amount of skeletons plus the damage they take is unbelievable seems a simple quest felt more like a fort and you receive only the same treasure as a level one pirate so makes no sense.

Sounds like you've been playing a lot of Super Mario. Should we get the "Bling Bling" sound every time we pick up a coin?

  • @monstermash1994 whatever sounds float your boat... but what if i did play a ton of super mario so what? what does that have to do with my suggestion? which by the way was more like a random chance not a given.
