@katttruewalker
I'd hope to see the following changes after the event is over:
- New faction: "Terror of the Deep"
This faction will keep track of all commendations in a similar fashion as the other factions, instead of just showing them without any option to view which ones you got or are still missing. Example could be the amount of times you escaped or killed one of the sea creatures, but also special accomplishments during events or related voyages. Some could even offer titles or cosmetics. Commendations could offer the same thing as achievements do, apart from keeping track of your progress they could challenge you to try thing you wouldn't think of doing normally.
- Changes to Megan the Megalodon
Megan will roam all the seas and will not discriminate between galleons or sloops. She will appear a lot more than Karen but in a way that you could spot her from a distance if you look around good enough. This would offer you the possibility to either avoid or engage if you keep a close eye on the horizon. Megan isn't really interested in you or your treasures, she just doesn't like to be disturbed. If a lot of cannonfire is heard from above chances are much higher of her popping up to silence them.
Drums to prepare the sacrifice
Playing the drums would calm her down as she prepared for the festive sacrifice that will be presented to her. Given her size, the sacrifice should be at least 5 animals or half of the ships crew. Playing music without supplying the proper sacrifice will anger her and will cause her to fight you with more deadly intent. Whenever she's angry, there's no more room for reason no matter how well you play your instrument, she'll only calm down till she killed you. In her angry state she'll try even harder to sink your ship, causing her to swim faster and create more holes on each attack.
Slightly reduced damage
The damage she does could be a bit less than she does during the event and maybe different for sloops and galleons to roughly have the same impact. Once she spotted a ship though she'll continue to give chase until either she received her sacrifice, she sinks you or if she finds a more interesting target to attack. As with the event, she'll attack everyone she sees without exception.
- Changes to Karen the Kraken
After seeing that Megan also just attacks the smaller ships, Karen agreed that that would indeed be fun, so no more discrimination between sloops and galleons. Unlike Megan though, Karen doesn't care for music or sacrifices, she just wants to decorate the bottom of the seas with your ship and treasures.
No more easy escape
Karen doesn't like how everyone just seems to escape so easily so she'll entangle the ship more often. Not only will this stop you in your track, it will also slam the anchor down and create holes in the hull due to the crushing weight of her tentacle. Wheneven there's more ships in the same area, they all get attacked by Karen and pulled towards eachother.
Actually defeating her
After "defeating" all of her tentacles she is far from defeated. The waves will suddenly get a lot higher as finally shows her scary head. She'll entangle the ship one last time and drag the ship towards her open beaklike mouth. The only escape would be to attack the tentacles to get free, which would make her flee as well or to attack the head to defeat Karen and get rewarded for it. If the ship reaches her mouth however it'll be certain doom as it would immediately start sinking without a chance for repair.
No body, no cry
I don't think that Karen really needs a body as I can see how the random tentacles would probably be quite a lot of effort to create for very little added value. Just make sure that everything is black below the water too with slightly more light towards the sky.
After succesfully sacrificing to (Megan only), escaping or killing the sea creature, you'll always receive a commendation or an update to an existing one and you'll have a chance for special cosmetics that everyone that was in the fight will receive.
