Discovery Ridge was the location. So I can imagine the first step of the riddle was:
On Discovery Ridge a sight to behold, wonders of a tale untold (the exact words for the step aren't revealed in the comic, so I took the first step for any Discovery Ridge riddle)
Follow the path if ye be brave, to a place where pirates rest. This matey you're too late to save, but he can lead you to the chest.
In the sight of the God of Fishes, in the mirror made for wishes, hold me through the looking glass, revealing the treasure's path.
Five paces south east (the exact words for this step aren't directly said in the comic besides how many paces)

Dearest Lesedi and DeMarco,
I fear that the life I live now is such that I'll not be returning to you and your mother. The complications are too great.
But I hope that doesn't mean I'll not see you again.
To reach where I now reside, you'll need to become legendary pirates.
