Weather System into the Sea Of Thieves

  • Implementing a weather system into a game can give the players some gameplay variety and sometimes even changing the way they act and do certain things. In the Sea Of Thieves, there is a need for improvement when it comes to the weather system. The Only feature remotely close to a weather system is the Storm.

But the storm is something regional and easy to avoid. I believe that the Sea of Thieves world could be transformed entirely with the implementation of a weather System. There are many things that the Weather System could add, for example, Fog.

Fog has been added into countless games and one common thing between those games is the Low visibility. If you were to encounter an enemy ship (Skeleton or Player), you would have to be much closer to get successful hits and it would change the way people play. Also, implementing a Weather System could open the doors to add more events. One example of those events could be blood moon, where enemies, such as the Kraken, Megalodon and Skeleton Ships, had a higher chance of spawning.

I only gave a few examples here but I am sure that if Rare implemented a Weather System, many interesting things would occur on the Sea Of Thieves. If you have ideas or suggestions about to this topic, feel free to comment. See you in the Sea Of Thieves!

  • @omardelpino they stated that forsaken shores will include new environment characteristics. Whether or not this applies to the whole map...idk. I just want to be able to not endure damage if you navigate the storms correctly.

Also, what about varying wind strength? Although this might make some trips 2x or 3x as long
