I need to change my Gamertag... Does it affect my ingame progress?

    So I have been strugling with this guestion... Even microsoft wont know the straight answer :/
    In xbox sites it says that if I change my gamertag it can zero my achievements on xbox console but I use PC...?!? I wont even own xbox...

    So can gamertag name change effect my achievements or my ingame lvl?
    I am Pirate Legend and I dont want to do that grind again xD

    Nope, your progress will remain intact and the only thing that will change is your name. Source: I changed mine shortly after SoT launched and everything remained the same.

    If you are just changing the gamertag name on the existing account, it will not affect your achievements, in game progress or game saves in any way - all it does is change your name (at a cost of course). But if you are just making a new 'tag then yes, everything would be lost and nothing will transfer over.

    Changed mine a couple of weeks ago. Nothing changed, but microsoft does charge about $10 to change gamertag

    Yes I know that it costs 10€ :P GG Microsoft...
    So now I can change my gamertag :)

    SOT allow us to use an ingame name different than our gamertag. It is rediculous that Microsoft makes you use 1 name across all games. What if I want to be Captain Root in sea of thieves which is consistent with the game but might not be for another game.
