The Fall at Kraken's Fall
Context: For the past two months, I have been doing charitable pirating in the sea of thieves by solo slooping against Skeleon Forts and Skeleton Ships and asking users on the Sea of Thieves Discord to join me in reaping the rewards. As a solo slooper, I understand the dangers of playing alone however I have little issues when facing Skeleton Forts, Skeleton Ships, and Enemy players; even at the same time. This past week I've changed my sessions to that of working on Devil's Roar Athena Voyages. In a session I tend to complete atleast one or two in succession, my most being 3. For this session my plan was to take my record to the next level and accomplish 4 athena's in a row, which I did after a grueling 9 hours. I felt greatly accomplished for myself and asked people on the discord for a lucky player to reap in the rewards. Unfortunately for me, I ended up getting chased by a Brigantine, who may not have realized the quantity and quality of loot I was carrying. After repeated attempts at jumping off, anchoring and gunpowder barreling, I met my end of the session when my game crashed at a blackscreen when I tried to use a mermaid. Through Direct Messages on Discord, I had learned that the player that joined me was incapable of fending off a Brigantine by himself and the sloop sunk with him. To make matters worse, the server merge message appeared for us as I joined the session again. I frantically tried to search the area where we sank but it was hopeless. The loot was either turned in, sunk to the bottom of the ocean, or despawned due to the merge. As of now, I am still absolutely crushed by this failure. For the time being I have decided to stop my charitable voyaging sessions and choose to do relaxing games (Like Merchant's Alliances).
