Xbox Series X Streaming Help

  • Hello everyone! I've just recently started streaming on Twitch and I'm having fun doing so. I bought an Xbox Series X in May and it is fantastic. It allows me to stream directly to Twitch from my Xbox.

My video quality is great, and viewers can hear myself and can hear other ship's crews clearly. However, my Twitch recordings aren't picking up the audio of my own crewmates! We use gamechat in order to interact better with other crews. The recording has no problem picking up my enemies, but my allies cannot be heard. I've tested with friendly pirates on PC and PS5. But the enemies I've been hearing are on a variety of consoles.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if Xbox just won't let Twitch record my friends' voices. I know that regular Xbox Series X recordings only pick up enemies, and you and your teammates voices are always muted. However, because Twitch is letting me get my voice and is still picking up enemies too, I'm wondering if there's something amiss, perhaps in my settings.

Any help would be great, because my crewmates are half the fun of streaming, and have plenty of fun interesting things to say that would add to my streams

  • Im having the same exact issue with my Xbox One X. It's only my crewmates that cannot be heard on stream and I dont know why.

  • So i figured it out! If you open your in game settings, scroll down to audio and switch crew chat audio output from headphones to speaker it should fix the issue!

  • If you're playing the game while in a party, then you go live using Twitch, there is an option in the settings to include Party Chat.

    Party Chat
If you are unable to hear yourself or others on your broadcast. Please review the Privacy and Online Safety Settings for your account. Check your settings and make sure you allow audio to be shared outside of Xbox Live. In addition, members of your party must also opt-in to share their voice chat on stream.

    Xbox

    • Select Twitch as the destination for your stream

    • Set your stream information and settings

    • Press Options to access Advanced Settings

    • Select Audio Sharing Settings

    • Check the Share Party Audio box

    • Make sure you allow audio to be shared outside of Xbox Live

    • Make sure party members have opted in to share their voice chat

  • Xbox has a user voice rights agreement, if you are in a discord group there is no way to share the voice chat with your stream, however, if you are in an xbox group, you can share the group audio if you go to stream settings and the first option to share group audio, at the moment in discord there is no way to share your friends' audio, greetings!!
