Why? They’ve been pretty explicit about what the reward is. They granted it to please the crowd who were upset over lowering the threshold for some titles. So a few weeks ago you just received a title for the work. Now you receive a cosmetic item and the title. And you say you expected more? Based on what?
I think they could offer a golden throne for players that can fly at twice the speed of any ship, fires self-guided missles, gives a double loot bonus to the owner, and people would still say, “Meh!”

- Golden Banana Sails,
- Deckhands Sails,
- Rare Sails,
- Overachiever Sails,
- Founder Sails.
By supposing there are more founders than overachievers.
Are there not more Rare Staff playing the game than deckhands?

But I really like those Overachiever Sails!
I am absolutely livid regarding these sails - I've been sailing for hours nearly every day since the closed alpha as a founder and pioneer and missed these sails by only a mere 4 captain's chests (for Hoarder of the Captain's Gold) and 1 day. The irony is that I picked the Athena gilded voyage thinking that I would get more, when I could've easily gotten these sails from doing the gilded gold hoarders instead had I known I was so close!
Now, I won't be getting them at all. :'(

@galactic-geek Livid? Why? They announced it in plenty of time to reach the commendations if you were close. Last month I believe. I have not been sailing for hours every day since the alpha, I certainly do not grind, and I received them. What were you doing for all that time?

That sounds like considerably more than I was able to play. I was wondering how in all that time you did not somehow meet one of the many possible requirements. I think I may have misunderstood your post though. You said you were livid but you did not say you were mad at Rare, which is how I originally understood the post.
