@rougual Doing what you said left me with decoding it to IUD GYJJ instead of ITD GXJJ. When using the new one with the cipher and Bounty as the key we get HGJ TFLI which makes absolutely 0 sense.
Mystery [Mega Thread]
To catch you up so far...
some tangents
Salvador Dali was born on May 11th and had some banana paintings and banana art similar to the instagram posts
H- or Harry the Hoarder literally has "skin of gold"
Banana and Pineapple both have skin in their item descriptions
Pineapple - "A refreshing but tough-skinned fruit - many pirates save their old cutlasses for chopping them."
Banana - "Remarkably good at aiding the healing process. The skin's the best part!"
Coconut - "Hard outside, tasty inside - this is one treasure chest you don't need the Gold Hoarders to open."
Mango - "Despite being a tasty and healthy fruit, some banana lovers still don't trust the mango."
Pomegranate - "This very nutritious fruit almost balances out the damage caused by years of grogswilling."Just brainstorming. This did not lead anywhere, but it may help someone with a different train of thought.
I was thinking about BOUNTY. Bounty = treasure. Treasure map. Map, coordinates.I took the fruit codes, and assigned the correct number from the order in the alphabet. So A = 1, B = 2, etc. I got the following.
DKH BNR ASL ITD GYJJ
4118 21418 11912 9204 7251010I then used these numbers to plot coordinates, and for example, I found the Tyrrhenian Sea.
41.1821418,11.9129204725101 = coordinates for the Tyrrhenian Sea.Again, this code did not work, and there are many ways to manipulate the data, but thought it might help someone else.
@rougual I tried what you suggested.
Grid being A through to I, X with dots being J (top), K (left), L (right) and M (bottom). X being N (top), O (left), P (right) and Q and last the Grid with dots being R through to Z.
Just the Pomegranate and Pineapple you get IODGLRR the whole fruit box sequence being DSHBVZANTIODGLRR. With the key word Bounty neither come out with logical words.
idk how or if this is relevant but sot twitter (and instagram) posted these...
the most recent is the Mango on April 2 (in aus, idk local time or date), https://twitter.com/SeaOfThieves/status/1642184316917628928/photo/1
the pineapple on Jan 8 https://twitter.com/SeaOfThieves/status/1611755313014755328/photo/1
and the Banana on September 23 last year. https://twitter.com/SeaOfThieves/status/1572951610778865664/photo/1All 3 are clearly the same, with the title simply the name of the fruit and a full stop and nothing else. this is unusual compared to the typical sot posts. Also, they are photographed in the same fashion. No coconut or pomegranate has been posted (i did a keyword search).
Also, a crab. This was shown in the fruit crate clue
@humanly-odd Wasn't the code from the banana the onedrive link? If so, I don't think it would have us combining the answer to a newer step with a previous one. Correct me if I'm mistaken.
@trashpandanijet Perhaps, since the letter mentions death and decay, which could be interpreted as referring to skeletons. Maybe a bit of a stretch though. I don't know, see what you come up with.
@hiiii-bob - going along with your hunch....bullets and canons and fire are the weapons to use on gold skeletons, cutlass will not work...anything else you can think of?
@orion-aerospace - what about the shadow skeletons...think it could be considered "dark"...also I was toying around with the word "DARK" and all i could come up with was "Trident of dark tides" and "Phantoms"
@trashpandanijet Maybe...perhaps we just drop the skeleton idea; there doesn't seem to be much that alludes to them, and they have no connection to food whatsoever.
@orion-aerospace - "There are story elements in the out-of-game books and comics and in the game which seem to imply that the Gold Skeletons may have something to do with the 'affliction' of gold which can be seen spreading over the members of the Gold Hoarders." found under trivia on :
Since the one drive depicted a Spotify symbol splitting each of the codes, and when looking at the writ out code having three spacings between each set I attempted to inject the word bounty letter for letter into the code starting with B then the banana code, O then the coconut code, so on and so forth with the Y after the pineapple code.... gibberish on my end but maybe another can use the method and have success
@gooru72 Ok, I'm not sure that this is how the cipher works, but I got CWNNZN when using BOUNTY as the key. Probably not what we're looking for.

nobody thought there was anything to this?
@orion-aerospace cant think of how it connects without doing some number conversions or chnaging the code to specifically those 3 fruits in that order and reversed and still come up with dead ends
Let's figure out what clues from the letter we've already used or have some idea of what might mean. Here's what I can think of:
- "PIG in PEN" refers to Pigpen cipher
- "You must check in all the TIME" refers to finding the specific glitched frames from the Spotify videos
- "FOODS that help survive both shot from gun and cutlass hit" refers to the fruit crate and associated clues
- "PICTURES paint a thousand words" likely also refers to the Spotify clue, BOUNTY
- "LINK the two" possibly refers to the need to link both BOUNTY and the fruit clues together
- "FRUIT that's stored in tuneless DRUMS of wood" ?
- "But there’s a DARK side to what we eat when time and life collude" ?
@orion-aerospace I really think that refers to "The Pirate Times", their newsletter. But that's my best guess.
@kattmama21 When I used the gerid, x, grid, x variation for the pigpen I got the letter combination DOH TRB AKP IJD PPWI
