i would love to if they were to add HG PvP gunfight, similar how HG work but instead for ship you will teleport to any island where you have to fight against other players with guns. i think it would give a fair chance for these ain't good at cannon.

I'm a hard pass on that personally, I don't see SoT as CoD.
Nothing is fair in battle no matter if you have the same ship or supplies.
Everything takes practice and time ; just because it's hard doesn't mean it's impossible.

@tmawbie love this idea! WE def could use a gunfight only TDM style on an island only. I have played an indie game where it had 2-3 teams of pirates sword/gunfighting only and it is a blast. The game is super clunky tho, so I always wished that SoT would just add it.
@sa1tynutz Hey! nothing wrong with free for all too! But what i have in mind was it can be from 1vs1 to 4vs4. similar how HG work. if you are solo sloop then you will play against solo sloop, when you play galleon then you against galleon.
Siren Song was supposed to give us more opportunities to fight on islands for once, but all interest in that kinda died out quickly.
I've always wanted more TDMing opportunities, especially on outposts so I could have shoot outs in stores, streets and taverns.
For years I've felt like I just can't get enough TDM.. ever. I log in excited to PvP and have to play for 3 hours just to squeeze 15 minutes of hand-to-hand fighting out of it every session. It's very frustrating, especially since I played POTCO as a kid in 2008 and even they had the sense to have a Ship-Vs-Ship mode AND a Pirate-Vs-Pirate TDM mode with both Team Deathmatch and Free-For-All.
I maxed out my rank in both SvS and PvP in that game and wore those badges next to my name tag with pride. I usually wore the PvP badge because I felt it was rarer and more of a flex.
@olde-grim-jack I knew Siren Song was going to be a bust the moment they announced it. Anything that involves treasure as the primary source to bring together a TDM playstyle is not going to work, because most will value the treasure over the fight and just run and the others will grow tired of chasing.. I do not ever chase down SoSSers because I would rather not waste my time. I would love a TDM gunfight mode and have shootouts like you said in stores and streets and taverns. I just wish they had a good way to expediate the TDM process. Without having to worry about finding players, doing naval and then boarding to actually fight.. That stuff is super fun don't get me wrong and we're in agreement here, but I just wish Rare would see that a portion of the community actually enjoys the gunplay/swordplay enough to want a fun mode to have it the primary focus. It would be a great way to warm up before an adventure session or a relaxing way to end the session after doing some voyages.
I love this, I've always wanted a TDM style version of Hourglass Matchmaking to practice my gunfighting and swordfighting skills. My thoughts are that ships are locked in a ring around a fort with temporary Peaceball, Barrelball, and Damage Immunity effects on each other's ships until X total player kills have been made, ending the match. X would scale with crew size.
@worst-tdmer I wish Rare would add some kind of "Vote to Duel Crewmates" option but I also wish that there was a queue mode for 2v2/3v3/4v4 TDMs. Imagine an event where 4 ships go 8v8, that would be absolutely crazy
