Cannonballs in the blunderbuss

  • Too many skellys? BOOM!
    Enemy ship close by but... no cannon reach? BAM!

    Poor range. Low reload spd. Big damage. Hand held weapon for punching single holes into the hull of a boat or clearing out that boney fan club.

  • @nayfe-pacewell well, canon balls typically don't fit in blunderbuss' muzzles. And even if they did there wouldn't be enough charge to propel them out of the barrel.

    Well eating a banana wouldn't stop you from drowning in real life either but this is a fun cartoon-like game, not a simulation!

    Great idea, this would make it much easier to sink ships and I think this should only be something a canon could do. But as a high-damage way of shooting other players (slow reload, instakill with a direct hit) or groups of skeletons... that would be awesome! Dare I say a way of rocket-jumping as well?

  • I'm intrigued, but not 100% sold on it yet. I think it would have to be a "for emergency use only" kind of thing, and to help keep it way, perhaps firing a cannonball from the blunder would also deal something like 25% damage to the player firing it as well, given the sheer force of the thing, or at least it knocks you flat on the ground like a kid shooting his first 12 gauge.

    Well, even from a pure meta-standpoint it wouldn't make sense, because you're asking a personal weapon to do vehicular damage, which would throw off the game engine mechanics, because it would make canons a non-item if all your crew can do is walk around loaded with canon shot ready to take down anyone's ship.

    So no, it's not a good idea.
