A way for promo codes to be used on all platforms?

It would be great if there was some way to unify the redemption of codes given through various promotions (Microsoft Rewards, Game Pass, promotions like Trolli or Oreo, and so on). Right now, there are 4 platforms that Sea of Thieves can be played on, but the codes usually given out are only for XBox and the Microsoft Store. This means half of the platforms are left out, and if I wanted to share an extra code with a friend there's a chance it just won't work. If someone from Steam or PS5 wants to redeem a code, they have to at minimum buy Game Pass and either download the Microsoft Store version on their computer or use Cloud Play to log on to the game and get the rewards. This is a lot of time, work, and money just to redeem a free item for a game we already own! Even when other codes are provided like with Steam, there can sometimes be trouble with getting enough codes to go around. It'd be wonderful if there was a way to confirm these prizes without needing to go through all these extra steps; could something possibly be added to the website that would circumvent this since our pirate info is loaded there?
