Client lags when scoping (more so on higher ping)

  • The client lags a lot when you scope your weapon. Ping spikes/higher ping makes the issue worse.

This makes it more difficult to aim in quick/high intensity fights.

    I submit a bug report.

If you couple this with poor Jump Registration makes it difficult to play the game sometimes because your desired outcome is unexpected and jarring to the player

These are basic features that work in other games and areas I think SOT can improve to help with the smoothness of playing the game.

  • Seriously, who keeps doing what you did in the video during the game... Of course it will lag when smashing buttons like that and would happen in most games.

Maybe do a video of sniping normally.

  • @captdirtyoar I knew someone would comment like this. I don't play like this, and I don't expect anyone to play like that. The video is an example to showcase the issue. It's much easier to see the problem when you see the problem on loop.

The fact remains that the effect will still happen on the very first scope in and screw up aim. Sometimes more or less dramatic - also depending on distance to target would make things worse. I'm so tired of people pretending things aren't an issue when instead they are just blissfully unaware.

This game has issues with change in movement, the scoping effect slows down your character which causes a studder due to the server saying you're in a different place than you are on your client. The same thing happens when you try to jump. The same thing happens when you try to change direction. The same thing happens when you move up a slope. There is a very serious network issue with the game that prevents the server from having a little bit of trust of the client. The client says, "I just scoped in here", or "I just jumped here" and the server says, "no you didn't" so it teleports you to a new position and screws with your perception of reality.
