Now I know this isn't fan Art, but it is "art" so I wanted to post it in here.
Can we all take a second to just look at how beautifully and intelligently designed the SOT logo is?
Now.. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but i'm sure some, if not most of you have picked up on this But if you take a closer look at the nose of the scull do you see the GRIM REAPER?
To me it seems like every single piece in this art work has been thought out carefully and it looks to me like the Grim reapers hand is caressing the row boat which is surrounded by sharks ( death )
So maybe it's just me but I feel it was intentionally done that way. thoughts?

If you look at the rock and how its shaded the outside part looks like the hood and the inside is.. well.. darkness??? idk what the grim reaper is made out of..
ok i went on paint and quickly outlined where I think it looks like the reaper. mind the cute face Ahahahahahha @Runic @TheAaronLeigh
seeeeee. You can see it looks like his arm is holding the railing of the row boat about to drag it down.
@oFFSpRiNgg22, seems like the same as a tossed trash can lid vs a flying saucer.
it would be neat to see a member from SOT-RARRRRRRRE's art dept to discuss the brainpower behind both this big logo and the baby logo...

Hahaha never would have seen that if you hadn't mentioned it..To be honest I didn't rly spent time studying the logo
This logo is so detailed and there are so many things going on. The ship in the storm, the ship being eaten by the kraken, the pirates emerging from a cave, the pirates fighting with sharks
Could discuss every little piece of detail for hours xD
@fryni9lives I'm not sure if i'm the only one seeing this or if it was even intentional but I feel like it could be. I understand that the rock is there because it's the nose of the scull but just how everything else around the environment seems to interact with it ( like the sharks surrounding the fleeing row boat ) is almost certain death which would be appropriate if that is meant to be the Reaper hugging the rowboat.

I didn't study the logo much but on a closer inspection it really looks like a reaper.
As you said yourself nothing in most cases when it comes to graphic design everything is unintentional, there are exceptions though and if this is an exception, well it is a freaking awesome one. :P

Nothing in design is there on accident. It's always carefully thought out and I'm sure the artists working on this logo had put alot of thought into it. it's an amazing piece. I want it on my wall !
@oFFSpRiNgg22 I can see the shape of the grim reaper..I'd say it was drawn this way deliberately...for the shape representation and also the fact that rocks and small islands are real hazards in the ocean of Sea of Thieves....and who doesn't want to see the Grim Reaper right there to suggest the deadliness of the whole Sea of Thieves experience?
I love how he's trying to shoot the shark..you've got the kraken making a meal of the ship to the left and lightning striking the ship in the background, the sea looks all tumultuous and foreboding....excellent artwork.
I love looking at detailed artwork, trying to interpret it - one of my favourite pieces as a young 'un was a Lotr poster with Gandalf stood in the middle and all sorts of shenanigans going on around the edges.

I see what your saying with the Grim Reaper... I think we're off the mark on this one though... We all know there is only one reaper, his name is Gregg, and he doesn't look like that...
Also... I bet one of the mods is standing in front of JoeNineTee "Joe, have you seen this thread? Our fans are loosing their minds we need to at least give them something to talk about, Look, They're making up bat S crazy stuff over the logo i made"
