Forum Specific Rules

Impersonating a Rare Employees, Global Moderators, Deckhands/Moderators.
On the Forums Rare Employees, Global Moderators and Deckhands/Moderators all have a special flair when they post.
Impersonating or misrepresenting yourself as a Rare Employee, Global Moderator and Deckhand/Moderator will result in a permanent ban in the Forums.

Advertising
Making topics or posts to drive traffic or boost sales is strictly forbidden. Doing so will result in a permanent ban from the Forums.

Spamming, Baiting and Trolling
Posts and threads that are created to spam, cause unrest or troll the community will be locked, deleted and the users involved warned.
These actions can be and are not limited to:

• Creating threads, posts and content for the sole purpose of causing unrest

• Making off topic posts to derail the conversation

• Excessively using the same phrase, similar phrases, or gibberish

• Bullying and encouraging users to bully others.

Ignoring the warning will result in a temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

Witch-hunting and Call-Outs
Posting gamertags or screenshots of conversations in order to name and shame community members is not allowed on the Forums. If you believe a post or thread violates community standards, please flag it for moderation.
If you believe a player has been toxic in the game, you can report them to Xbox Live HERE . You can also submit a support ticket to Rare Player Support.
Topics and posts with this content will be locked, deleted and the users involved warned. Ignoring the warning will result in a temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

Embedded Media
If you're sharing Sea of Thieves content that may include swearing, please do not embed the video into your post, add it as a link to view externally.

Unacceptable Piracy Topics
Sea of Thieves isn't set in the historical age of piracy, instead it is set in its own world.
Topics about such as slavery or sexual exploitation have no place in our game or community. Posting about these topics, will result in a permanent ban from the Forums.

Political & Religious Discussion
Due to the sensitive nature of discussion, Political and religious discussion is not permitted in the Sea of Thieves community. Discussions of this nature will result in the topic or post(s) being deleted and the creator warned. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

Creating Duplicate/Similar Threads
Multiple threads on the same or similar topics posted in quick succession is not allowed. The most relevant thread will be kept open and all other threads locked.

Bumping Threads
Bumping threads with content that is not providing additional information to the original post is not permitted. Resurrecting threads over one month old is also not permitted. A warning will be issued, and the thread locked. Ignoring the warning will result in a temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

Asking For Upvotes
Topics and posts should be created to foster discussion. Asking for upvotes or posts to boost reputation or topic counts is not permitted. A warning will be issued, the post deleted or the thread locked. Ignoring the warning will result in a temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

Legibility
Topics and posts should be legible and easy to read! Please refrain from typing in:

• ALL CAPS.

• Using difficult to read formatting.
  A warning will be issued, the post deleted or the thread locked. Ignoring the warning will result in a temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

Circumventing the Forum Profanity Filter
A profanity filter is in place to support our commitment to our community to create the world’s friendliest multiplayer game. Topics and posts which attempt to circumvent the filter will be edited or deleted and the users involved warned. Ignoring the warning will result in a temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

Discussing Disciplinary Actions
Discussing disciplinary actions taken against individual players is not permitted on the Forums. Topics and posts with this content will be locked, deleted and the users involved warned. Ignoring the warning will result in a temporary ban from the Forums and a final warning. If the action continues, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

Alt Accounts
Community members are permitted to have multiple Forum accounts, however if one account is found to be breaking community rules, then action may be taken against all accounts owned by the same user.

Circumventing a Ban
If a community member posts on another account, or has another community member post to circumvent a ban in order to continue the actions that lead to ban, a permanent ban from the Forums will be issued.

We do not support community giveaways so please host and enter those at your own risk.
