The Sails of the invincibles, an effective way to distinguish skilled players

  • The idea is simple and effective and it would allow the most brave and skilled player to be unique in the game.
The sails of invincibles are a special type of sails that only pirate legends can buy, with a price around 1M of gold.
What is special about these sails? If you sink while using them, they will be lost and you need to buy them again. In this way only very skillful and rich pirates will be able to show off these sails on the seas.

  • I like the idea but there needs to be a reason for people to put them up other than bragging rights.

Also sinking someone who has these sails equipped should give some reward

  • I think some people are kinda already doing this by hauling loot in a decorative manner on their ship. but, yeah... maybe a reward kinda thing similar to a broken emissary flag that worth like half the price of the sails...? or at least 100k, come on!

  • Maybe put in a loot multiplier like when you are levelling up on your emmisary representation too. Everything you cash in has double reward.

  • @stiffrenagade87 I should read others people's comments before offering my own. I'm basically repeating what others have said. And now I'm replying to myself. I'm less pirate and more tom hanks in castaway talking to myself. Where's Wilson.

  • Have to disagree, those sails will mostly be out and about in alliance servers. Hoist your over achiever sails if you want to be distinguished on the seas.

  • Your sails should turn into something opposite when you do get sunk though, so others know that you thought you were invincible ...

This is what Sea Of Champions sails are.

  • @phantaxus apologies for my second post, I didn't know it was not allowed and I will not repeat the mistake.
    Now It is removed

  • @needsmokes new players cannot have over achiever sails; moreover over achiever sails are more connected to grinding

can you explain why we need that?
and can you also explain how beeing brave is connected to beeing skilled?
    also its cheesable

another: i need meaning for my pixels and others have to recognize it.
what you are seeking is acceptance and admiration from others in a video game. true?

i tell you something your pixels mean nothing to me, absolutely nothing!
And i dont feel the need to brag with pixels to be recognized as brave or skilled or whatever.

many "skilled" players arent brave at all, else they wouldnt stomp casual players or outnumber them.
what is brave to be skilled and attack a galleone of kids or a couple playing once a week.

what is brave in a videogame where you cannot lose anything?

    ridiculous and childish

  • What if the sails had some sort of reactivity like when you sink a ship you get a big bright tally mark on the sail(s) and I also like the idea of losing the sails when you sink and other players getting a reward when they sink a boat with the said sails.

  • @stundorn
It is not a need to have this sails, just an addition I would like to see.
Moreover, I think they would add an interesting mechanic in the game, because till now there is not an item that you can lose after you buy it.
By the way, I am not a skilled player at all, especially in PvP, but I like anyway items connected with potential risk and distinctiveness.
I will not answer to your other accuses, because I think they are not connected to the idea and they seem me more like personal attacks against a person you don't know.

  • @stiffrenagade87 this cannot be done because of server alliance exploits :(
