Key Bindings on PC still not saving

Hello everyone,
hello Rare team,

it's been years now since this bug first haunted sailors and it still is an issue to this day.

With the addition of new actions in today's update (crouch toggle, crouch hold, dart radial), having to re-map key bindings again and again becomes even more of a chore.

It's mindboggling to understand the issue. One month it's the "Bait" action that won't bind, the next month it's all F-keys that can't be used.

Please, please, please finally make this a priority item and solve it for us.

Yes, i am getting this - having to rebind crouch each time i start the game up - if i close a session and restart then its still changed, but on closing the game completely it seems to wipe the changes.

I have seen in other games this issue being the file used to save these changes being read only.
Not on computer now so I can't look for the file.

I have tried this before - last year even - and it did not help the issue, unfortunately.

Hoping for our moderators/developers to finally address this.

Dear Devs & Mods,

please review this issue and put it on the "to fix" list. It has been years.

@shardreg hey bro they are kinda busy fixing a ton of bugs right now and since the player can fix this one, its prob low on their priority. I fixed this by taking a picture of all my settings, then resetting everything to default, saving the game, and adding all my settings back in. It's tedious but it works, look it up on reddit that's where I found an explanation for the fix.

I appreciate your input and I am aware that there are a load of issues with Season 14 and its features.
However, this particular (proverbial) can has been kicked down the road for a few years now and still frustrates players - likely a lot more than bother to show up in the forums.

What's more, the "fixes" on reddit and on here do not guarantee success and it remains a gamble whether or not keybindings will save - and which.

Hence my persistance to keep this thread up high and get it noticed eventually.

Sadly, your solution is one that's also presented on reddit (and here) - and it works just as "optionally great" as the other workarounds.

For instance, with the current iteration of the keybindings-not-saving-bug, it does nothing for me.

It has been 2 weeks and this issue still persists ingame.

Please put this on the "to fix" list.

While it may not be the most urgent, considering the state of Season 14 and its features, it is one of the longest standing bugs in SoT.

I'm Steam on PC and my friends and I struggle with the new crouch keybinds auto overwriting existing settings on every restart. Please save my keys. I've tried the "workarounds". They don't work.

The "workarounds" are at best a temporary solution and at worst (more realistically) a way to keep this issue from getting fixed.

Upvoted as this has been an issue on Xbox console as well. I have to change my volume, key bindings, gameplay, and hud settings EVERY time. It's very inconvenient!

I was unaware that it was an issue for console players as well - thank you for informing us!

A similar experience to mine, then.

It worked in the previous 2 seasons and the issue only returned with Season 14 - and now refuses to leave.

Be sure to submit a bug report.

However if you reset controller bindings, edit your keyboard bindings, then reset controller bindings again they usually save.

Bug report should long be submitted, but thank you kindly for pointing this out!

The workaround with resetting controller settings does no longer seem to work with Season 14.
Which is probably for the best, honestly, as "working workarounds" tend to slow down bugfixing.
