  • @mike-n-ike0905 Oh yeah..... They're still out there.

  • I’ve had a couple from regular fort loot.

  • Of course. We get them all the time.

  • Yup, but they are definitely more rare now. They also go for 3-4K now.

Not that rare, or it's RNG related stuff. I find them often in random spots on islands, although you have to be at right spot at the right time to hear the chest cry. I also did 1 athenas voyage once where from the 8 chests you need to dig up, 3of them was a chest of sorrow. They also can be in the fort loot room although I don't see them there that often.

But yes, it's still in the game and also yes, it's worth more. Same goes for the chest of grog, which also received higher payouts.

I'm getting good rates of "Sorrow Chests" from the dig ups given by killing ordinary emergent captains.
Also getting a fair few "Grog" ones this way too.

  • @mike-n-ike0905 First time I grabbed one of these I did not know it fills boat up....ya I learnt real quick lol

Yeah these quests are good they give better loot than stupid Athena quests

  • Stumbled upon one last night just sitting in the cave on Kraken's Fall while on an Order of the Souls mission. Then right after that while heading back through the cave with a storage chest (hadn't seen the bounty skeletons yet) an emergent captain came up in the same cave followed shortly by an Ancient Skeleton - talk about luck that night!

Ended up having to leave the chest there as a hostile ship was rapidly approaching as I took the Villainous Skull back to my ship and had to make a hasty escape. Eluded them (apparently they didn't care for the Devil's Roar or that I told them I had no issue wasting their time) and as I was approaching Galleon's Grave I hit a floating gunpowder barrel and sank my ship, but my luck continued as it respawned right at the island that the Skeleton Orders map was for the Reapers Chest.

But never did get back to Kraken's Fall to finish the voyage or try to retrieve the chest.

  • They seem to fill up Sloops faster than they used to.

I end up leaving them behind or dumping them in the sea instead of dealing with them. 🧜🏽‍♀️

  • You see plenty that have been abandoned after the first shovel hit, that's what we do too 😂

  • So if you place a sorrows next to a rage........ do they cancel out like I hope?

  • I got my first one the other day. Didn't know what it did. thought I must have had a hole I didn't know about when my sloop filled up with water. Soon bailed then threw it overboard. Seemed like too much hassle.

No need to leave them behind, just pick up the chest when it starts crying and get low on one of the ladders. That way the ship won't fill up and you can keep sailing, it is even more easier when sailing duo sloop or brig or gally. It also works on those ships

I think what will happen is that you're ship starts flooding and at the start it will cool down the chest of rage. But if you leave the chest of rage too long in the water it will boil it up. And I think the chest of sorrow will sink the ship before the chest of rage is that hot to boil all the water inside the ship. I've not tried it though, so this is just some thinking about this!

  • I found two tonight.

The real question is "is the Box of Wondrous Secrets a thing?"

The real question is "is the Box of Wondrous Secrets a thing?"

Yes it is, I think the existence of that box is the reason why the golden reaper chest is now lower value ;) although I still like to see increased value for that rare box :D

  • I dug up 2 leastnight doing the new time limited legendary voyage
