This isn’t a game changer but what if chickens randomly lay eggs you can find on the island. You can cook for extra health or throw them at other players and it obscures their view similar to the vomit.

I like it. It would just be difficult deciding if it would be considered food or a throwable item. Maybe throwable until cooked, then it's food.
