Instead of the mermaid auto spawning, you have to play a song to call them. Runs the risk of calling... something else maybe?

@jollyolsteamed calling a shark instead of a mermaid 5% of the time isn't an event.
Mermaids are too easy.@p4p3rm4t3 and giving the players control over the mermaid makes it easier for those that use it?
- Does not give away your position before a board.
- Does not give away your position when ambushing.
- Does not give away your approach when tucking.
You claim: Mermaid is to easy and you suggestion is make it better for those that use it by having them control it? A % to summon a shark isn't going to matter.

we wouldn't want a tool to spawn events
and the mermaid also serves as a give away for tuckers if pirates are paying attention
its not a stealth game
this subject has been brought up before alot of people didn't want this mechanic then don't think they want it now
