Repair visual damage on ship option

  • While it is fun to have your ship looking like swiss cheese held together by planks after playing for a few hours and not sinking at all it starts to get annoying and counter-intuitive when the only relevant progression in the game is replaced by holes and planks (capstan, wheel, livery). I would suggest adding the option to "visually repair" repair your ship when visiting a shipwright for some gold (i'l even pay 10k gold as I have most cosmetics I want and have tons to spend).
And scuttling is not really an option as you lose the position you are at, potential cannon balls you have accumulated and the works.

SUMMARY/TLDR - Add option to repair visual damage of the ship at the shipwright!

I agree that players should have the option to pay to remove cosmetic damage because your pirate and ship's appearance are a major aspect of this game. Personally, I take pride in my ship appearing beat up because it shows my crew have been able to keep the ship afloat despite taking massive damage; it's a warning to others.

There actually is a way to do this in-game, but it's very time consuming; find a storage crate or two, transfer all your supplies over, hide them on a known island, then scuttle your ship. When you spawn on your new ship, simply sail back to the island where you've hidden your supplies and you'll have a cosmetically clean ship with all your old supplies.

  • Nope.
Show everyone who comes close to your ship all the damage and fights you survived. Like a scar you want people to see and ask....”what caused that”
