@thagoochiestman I think one of the challenges Rare faces as developers, especially with a game that they want the lifespan to be nearly a decade, is finding a good strategy for releasing big game-changing content. Things such as new regions or new factions. If they release it too fast they run the risk of overloading the playerbase or running out of content (though the way they talk about it, it seems like they're confident that they have a nearly infinite well of content). If they release it too slowly, then they stagnate the waters (no pun intended) and drive away their playerbase.
With that being said, something such as what OP is suggesting (and countless others) is something that is definitely not a huge game-changing mechanic. Being able to save outfit/ship sets to just be able to click and have applied should have been added back in Year 1, and the fact that we are in Year 3 (already the biggest year for SoT, I believe Joe Neate has said) is concerning, considering that it is such a minute QoL update.
Also, I just want to point out that I am not a game developer in any fashion, so I obviously have minimal to no true understanding of what challenges they could face to add something like this. It seems as simple as making an extra tab in the "Clothing" and "Shipwright" chests for saved custom sets, but who knows how simple that truly is in practice.
It would be nice to get some type of response about this from an official source, even if it is as vague as "We hear your suggestions, and it is something we are looking in to!" That would at least let us know that they are listening.
