Saving Outfits for easy change

  • Hello,

This is probably already being lookted at but i would realy like to safe outfits. If you want to switch up your pirate now you constanly have to go through all the boxes and remember the different clothings.
They are adding more clothing options every update and i feel i would make more use of them if i can safe the outfits i already like, so i can experiment with new styles. This way i can make different iterations of my pirate. One may be out for blood, while the other is a chilled-out merchant.

I would realy like to see this implemented and i hope with seasons they have the time to add more of these little but fun improvements.

    tnx for reading :)

  • yeah that would be cool

  • Entirely agree

  • @wemmersteun agree, but as this suggestion is as old as Sea of Thieves itself, I won't bet on it to come anytime soon

  • Agreed! Some filters would be also neat to narrow down selection when looking for a specific set.

  • @schwammlgott For real.

I've seen this suggested multiple times and nothing happened.

I've seen other good ideas suggested and nothing happens.

Throw in not knowing whether or not Rare even looks at these forums, and I think we'd be better off saving the ideas & building our own game rather than keep tossing ideas into this sea.

  • @thagoochiestman a little bit more reactions from Rare to ideas made here, good or bad, would be nice sometimes, yes...
Even if it's just a "no"...

  • @schwammlgott Exactly.

There's already enough people who hop into comments to say "no" to any suggestion as is. But it'd probably have a stronger impact if the shutting-down of ideas came straight from the game-makers themselves.

For me, I Rarely (🤣) play anymore because I've seen so many good ideas from here seemingly get passed over for more recycled content updates.

  • @thagoochiestman I think one of the challenges Rare faces as developers, especially with a game that they want the lifespan to be nearly a decade, is finding a good strategy for releasing big game-changing content. Things such as new regions or new factions. If they release it too fast they run the risk of overloading the playerbase or running out of content (though the way they talk about it, it seems like they're confident that they have a nearly infinite well of content). If they release it too slowly, then they stagnate the waters (no pun intended) and drive away their playerbase.

With that being said, something such as what OP is suggesting (and countless others) is something that is definitely not a huge game-changing mechanic. Being able to save outfit/ship sets to just be able to click and have applied should have been added back in Year 1, and the fact that we are in Year 3 (already the biggest year for SoT, I believe Joe Neate has said) is concerning, considering that it is such a minute QoL update.

Also, I just want to point out that I am not a game developer in any fashion, so I obviously have minimal to no true understanding of what challenges they could face to add something like this. It seems as simple as making an extra tab in the "Clothing" and "Shipwright" chests for saved custom sets, but who knows how simple that truly is in practice.

It would be nice to get some type of response about this from an official source, even if it is as vague as "We hear your suggestions, and it is something we are looking in to!" That would at least let us know that they are listening.

  • I hope they add something like this. While it is a small feature I am positive every player would use this
