Is it me or is the key shown on the map in the Tavern unfindable in A Pirate's Life?

@spectre-chavez Having the exact same issue. Just finished the tall tale but dunno if wanna do it again untill I know if it works.
SPOILERS
In order to get the key, you need to get Bones' recipe. To do that, you need to jump into the cave from the two platforms (There's an opening to the right of that puzzle, but it's hard to see since the cave opening blends into the background. You can open the gate from inside.) Next, one of the skeleton's heads will explode after drinking the recipe. After that, you use Dougie's medallion as a buy-in for the chess game. However, you need the Captain's skull in order to play the chess game, so make sure you haven't brought him back to his old body yet. Afterwards you can use the key to open the locked door by the platforming puzzle which leads to a easter-egg that I'm still geeking out about, but won't spoil it here.
