May we sell the Dark Tides Tridents Please?

  • We ended our session a couple of nights ago with 12 Tridents! So we just left them on the dock at Golden sands. Maybe some kids will come along and find them and have some fun? However it would be nice to be able to sell them. It could work like the ashen winds skull, the price drops with use.

Seems a shame to just have to leave them like that. Certainly One of the factions should have a need for buying them?

  • I agree but sell them to merchant like an ammo crate or ghost storage for around the same price as an ammo crate. Too common to be valuable

also would be cool if we could get weapon racks.

I LOVE the trident and how often it spawns now I need me a nice rack for them

  • @wolfmanbush ooo yeah a weapon rack would be awesome! Aye and I agree sell them as if an ammo crate, that is a great idea. A little gold is all, instead of just having to leave them if not used.

Hitting an enemy Pirate with the Trident is 10/10 satisfying

  • agreed we should be able to sell the things to either the Order or the .. Pirates's Life storyteller.

If you want to convert tridents to gold, you should try using them to take down Megs and Krakens; they go down surprisingly fast, even if you're only shooting the little tier 1 bubbles. Must be a damage multiplier going on behind the scenes...

  • I actually wish the Ashen Winds Skull wasn't sellable because nobody ever lets me use them... I don't want the same to go for the Trident

  • @klutchxking518 sorry man, I just want those sweet sails!

  • @ninja-naranja speaking of, I don't think I've EVER used or seen those sails being used.

  • @klutchxking518 they’re not bad. Especially paired with the Ashen Dragon hull. Or maybe the Reaper Emissary one.

  • I dont support that idea, they are way too common and buying them would just make them feel less unique.
Season three have too many of them but its probably just so we can all them out in the seas, and from next Season we'll see them less often.

As for selling them its even worse, many people just wont use them in order to grab every bits of gold, but when they stay only as a tool people dont feel like they are losing something so they would use them.

unless they nerf them the only tridents getting sold are those left over at the end of the session. These things bring way too much quality to daily pirate life to ever worry about saving them for gold. I never would have guessed adding this weapon would be so much fun and so awesome for pve but here we are.

Anyone that isn't using them just isn't running an efficient pve session at this point

  • @wolfmanbush I agree with but when you have an option people will use it, and i dont think they need to give us an option.

Im not wishing to nerf them but yesterday we like 9 tridents, it just looks bad.

The spawn rate is necessary with the new monsters and their current spawn rates imo.

I just flat out support them staying the same strength and the current spawn rate just because I think it makes the game better but with all these new enemies out there spawning nonstop on land and in the sea I think it's necessary to make them common to balance that out

  • @wolfmanbush I have the same opinion for the new enemies, they wont be as often after this season, but they need a serious buff.

  • @ninja-naranja Disagree strongly. Nothing.... at all... looks good with that god-awful yellow and brown hull with cheeto dust. That hull is hideous. Nobody should use it, ever.

Try the Inky Kraken Hull with the Burning Blade Sails and Ashen Winds Sails.

  • @klutchxking518 I quite like the hull. It fits the theme they were going for and it was the first hull that glowed. If anything I’m happy that it happened so we could get a hull like the Shackled Phantom hull.

    But to each their own.

  • @limbicfanatic ye indeed that is a great way to convert them to gold! And we did a fair amount of that. We used quite a few of them (agreed they work really well on Megs!) The meg we took down dropped another Trident for us lol! Even after using quite a few tridents we still had a lot left over. We were just getting them from everything we were doing.

p.s. @deckhands I am having a time with the forums being able to use the 'quote' function. My replies when I use it do not post

  • @faceyourdemon I agree I do not think we should be able to buy them. But selling them could be good. Even if it was for a minimal amount of gold. We had a ton left over even after we had used a ton of them.

  • I am all aboard on this idea of new tools being added, designed specifically to be used over selling. When you get an item that has gold value, you tend to just not want to use it, with no gold value, people will use them.

I hope it stays the way it is.

  • @wolfmanbush

I agree, people are complaining about the spawn rate of the new enemies but honestly it's OK once you use the tools available.

My only gripe is that the enemies themselves don't have much of a reward. The gems they drop are a still a little too rare for me to care to kill them.

  • Why not? - I mean, you can sell everything else except storage crates and tridents should be something the shopkeepers want basically.
It's incredible that you cannot sell Storage Crates like you do with Ammo boxes. (But you can however sell Flamefarts -yea inteded- storage crates because they are "ghostly") :P

  • I would like to see them sellable to the weapons shop or hunter's call.

  • Yes to selling at Weapon or Seaposts and yes to a weapon rack for storing them.

As for sell prices, idk like 250 per?

  • Honestly, I am glad they are not sellable and I am confident Rare did this on purpose. No one uses the Ashen Wind skull because it loses so much value (up to 15k with lvl 5 emissary) when used so this awesome flamethrower is sitting in chests instead of in the hands of players. Adding a value to sell tridents would just make players second guess using them since they are worth gold and make players feel bad each time they do use them. Keeping these things with no value I think is great for the game and with them being so strong in PVE rewards players to use them with how fast they can do World Events and stuff. Just beast Gray Marrow in FOTD with these in under 2 minutes absolutely awesome no more bullet sponge bosses :)
