Empty Servers

    Has anyone else noticed that the servers have not been merging as much lately? The last couple of nights my crew worked on reapers only to find we are the only ship on the server after about 2 hours.

    You're never the only other ship. A reaper appears on the map, emissary flags are coming down mighty quick.

    I’ve noticed quieter servers, but I don’t think server merges have changed.

    With an influx of new players it’s highly probable that emissary ships aren’t as as common so you won’t be able to see them even as a reaper 5.

    i feel that servers are to empty and boring now. i would def. like to see more than 20 ships on a open world. its an open world game but you never see anyone.

    Merges are working for sure. Just last night we had 2, for about 3 hours of play.

    Last night even before I left the outpost some pirate came on my ship playing the banjo, gave me some supplies, bade me well then logged off and I got server merged all before my son even joined. We went off and stole a fort, was a most enjoyable session!

    You only merge when you´re alone.

    Less boats because folk are always server hopping, because there's no boats.

    It's a catch 22.

    The correct answer is to take steps to mitigate server hopping as much as possible.

    I also believe that TT's continue to hold a slot when they are in the instance.

    20 ships or more on a server would be horrible. The world is far too small for that. You'd barely be able to accomplish anything. The seas should not feel crowded, that makes the world feel too small.

    I hadn't been merged for months until Wednesday when I got merged twice.

    It might be more common these days with the influx of new players who might not play as long, or when ships are merging off your server by using the portals to switch servers or do the new tall tales.

    The Sea might appear to be empty, but trust me - it's not.

    @galactic-geek Some solo sloopers are like sasquatch, you only see them if they let you see them. haha
