Quite some time ago, at least a year by now, the tunnels in crooks hollow changed. The mouth of the cave by the dock opened up a bit more and the wall to the right got pushed further back as well as scaffolding appearing around. Did anything ever come of this and if not what do you think could come of it and why has it taking so long?
What happened with the crooks hollow changes?

or the big doggo on the top left uncharted island.
Pretty sure the doggo is a joke playing on the island being at K-9... May not have been anything deeper than that happening.
@realstyli that’s probably true. Still what about all those underwater ruins that started popping up around Reaper’s hideout and the bottom left uncharted island? Unless that was just to make some areas feel more lived in.
Yeah, I think it's mainly environmental storytelling. Like you said, I don't think every little change means something.
The change at Crook's Hollow could simply have been to facilitate the Gold Hoarder Ancient Vault somehow.
I think they've learned that players are going to find any changes they make though, and it helps getting players talking.
Players talking = more engagement = the game stays relevant = more earned media. They might also have plans laid out for content coming years away and are laying little seeds here and there.
{SPOILER WARNING}
For example, I am kind of curious where they are going with the hidden area on Wanderer's Refuge now that we know how things played out in A Pirate's Life TTs.@realstyli Yeah I was just thinking about this the other day cause I remembered Falcore posted a video of a hidden door in that room opening a while ago. I assume the devs asked him to and not that he just decided to animate a teaser video for fun and pass it off as real.
