Let us duel with our crewmates

  • It would ve amazing if we could duel our mates in our crew, it would be great for combat practice and a nice side activity while on long voyages.

It would probably also encourage more pvp participation if people got more confident after sparring with their friends.

  • @alienmagi ^

  • Yep. This. Thanks.

  • @alienmagi agreed

  • was going to post this same thing today. this would be a welcome addition.

  • one thing this could help with is people being stuck and crews can get them out with bullets

this could to a degree help out tdmers mess around. It would be limited to 4 but it's better than nothing

personally I have enough problems to worry about while captaining and don't have any real interest in getting shot in the face by my drunken zookeeper crew but others would like it and it doesn't hurt me any

it doesn't lean towards productivity which I don't like but like I said at the beginning it does have uses outside of just messing around

  • The only way I see this happen is if both crewmates agree to spar, otherwise there will be confusion while fighting the enemy.

  • Yes. Allow each person to turn friendly fire on/off for themselves only. That way it can't get exploited to grief.

  • Borderlands had a setup where if you melee someone you get the option to accept the duel. If it were set to a quick chat option like "let's duel" "have at you" or something it would be an easy way to confirm you want to fight. Also from my experiences with Borderlands...it was very annoying when someone wanted to fight but you didn't. Ask me how to 1hk a modded sheild lol 😆. You should be able to universally decline duels in settings and it should default to that setting.

  • This has been suggested before. I would like it to be a glove where you slap them across the face with it to challenge them. Then throw it on the ground. Slap two people 2 v 1, hand the glove to someone and then slap others can give 2 v 2.

  • Only downside I can see is you're going to get those ultra sweaty people that want to flex on open crews just going in demanding that they duel with them and generally creating a poor experience. Outlier situation, yes, but one that will definitely happen.

It would be super fun, though. I support it.

  • @alienmagi very much a long requested feature for the game. I'd go for it as it helps you practice PVP, without the adrenaline of a real-time battle.

Almost the same as gun game in COD - You could use it to warm up at the start of a session just to hone your skill and get that muscle memory ready.

I like the ideas shared here of friendly fire and a glove, but what about wooden cutlasses that if you equip can make contact with the crew, but cause minimal damage?

We're pirates, not gentlemen. Besides, not every pirate wears gloves - I'd imagine that it'd be fairly hard to animate.

I'd much prefer a menu toggle setting per crew member under your Crew Options.

Good sir! I am quite deeply offended!
Lord Sshteeve of the Crusty Nose always aims to use eloquence and elegance in all naval activity.

I doff my cap and say "good day sir!"

Throws a bucket of puke in your face.

  • @galactic-geek quite right!

    🤣🤣🤣

  • Only if the loser is forced to sit in the brig.

What do you mean by productivity?

It could be very productive if a dueling system took over the current "Arena," tying into Sea Dog progress.

There could be two types of duels.

Duels based on Emotes. you could instigate a duel between yourself, your crew, and even other pirates. It could work similarly to Borderlands 3 Dueling, as in it just creates a stadium around where ever the emote was used.

A rotating que of PvP "encounters" that spawns pirates into random encounters on land or at sea. It could utilize a lot of the existing islands and forts in fun ways.

  • @galactic-geek

It would not be your glove, rather a tool you would pull out from the radial wheel. The animation would not be any harder than adding a new emote.

As for gentleman, not every pirate was a **** bag. Tradition does mean something.

  • Hello

Hmm, interesting idea though both parties would need to agree to the dual taking place and weapons that can be used.

  • @miserenz From the radial? Um, last time I checked, all of those slots were taken.

  • @galactic-geek

If that is your biggest probelm then it is eaisly done by pushing the M key or what ever Xbox used for "more"

A small reshuffle would be nice anyway. For instance I would prefer all the instruments on their own radial.
