I love Sea of Thieves so much so I play it almost every day,
However I come across p.c players that can map more jockeys then xbox controllers which gives them an unbelievable advantage.
I decided to buy an elite controller to then find out the additional paddles cant be mapped as hotkeys!
I'm shocked and disappointed and feel although rare have done an xbox match making only option this dosnt help as my some of my friends & favorite crew members are p.c.
I've tried everything now from sensitivity settings to mapping the d pad however this is still a major problem that I don't have on xbox only servers.
PLEASE RARE, ALLOW US TO USE ELITE CONTROLLER MAPPING!

@phantom-elite99 that's how the elite controller works. It's not meant to give you more buttons, it's meant to make hitting multiple buttons faster and easier.
@PHANTOM-ELITE99 I love my elite controller. It makes a drastic improvement to both FPS games and SOT because I never have to take my thumbs off the sticks during combat...jump, Sprint, heals... All without limiting movement or aim.
Having additional hotkeys isn't that big of an advantage vs KBM. It's the fine accuracy for aiming that they can really get us on...but even that...meh.
I'd be happy to show you my mappings and button layout for SOT.
I also have a keyboard (and mouse) hooked up to my Series X so I don't have to have any text/chat stuff bound to my controller...I can tap E or T and do pirate chat wheel stuff or full chat without having it on my controller. Opens up more stuff on the d-pad for stuff that's actually important.

But what I suggest you, is a chatpad for your controller...then you can hotkey anything, that's what I did...but then you can just play in crossplay servers...chatpad doesn't work with xbox servers@phantom-elite99 said in Mapping xbox elite controller issues:

So why can't the faster and easier buttons be mapped to the paddles?The paddles can be mapped to mimic other buttons on the controller, they are not NEW buttons. That is not a limitation of sea of thieves, but a design choice of microsoft's for the controller.
